PLEASE Apple, fix the Homekit bugs
The only HomeKit related issue I seem to have introduced with iOS 16 is my automations don't run as fast as they used to. My homehub/setup hasn't changed. I have my outside light set to come on when I arrive home, and before it would come on before I pulled in my driveway. Now it comes on much later, when I'm already pulling into the garage.

Nice of Apple to release an update within days of the release of a new handset, which shouldn't have had the bugs in the first instance. Surely you would think Apple tests these things - I understand if it was a deep rooted software bug, but the camera issue is such an obvious thing to test, especially when the main selling point for this 'upgrade' was the camera system.

Don't get me wrong, I'm firmly rooted in the Apple eco-system, but all the bug riddled software releases that seem rushed to market is getting tiring, whether its the iPhone or OSX. Just feels Apple used to release software that was so much more stable previously. Now I hold before updating, and do not update a full OSX operating system until I really need to!

It took em 2 year to fix smart Homekit commands via Siri (needed to tap for verification). Introduced with WatchOS7, finally fixed in WatchOS9. Far from fast for such essential feature from this Watch.

I take back what I said. I just opened instagram again and heard an audible click as the OIS went into position.
Same here, sounds like the camera is „getting ready“ or „waking up“. And for me that’s not just an right beside my ear noise. You also can feel it adjusting.

I wonder if that's normal, given the new larger sensor and maybe larger OIS module (don't quote me on this). Perhaps it's only meant to fix the rattling issue...

Nice that the release comes so fast.
Hope it all settles down a bit and they will release a very polished 16.1 in October.

Yeah maybe, I read that there also was a slightly noise using the iPhone 13, but that’s not a slightly noise to me.

It also do not happen using the standard camera app or when getting back to Instagram after hearing that sound. It’s more like you need to lock/unlock your phone to hear it again.

I just installed ios 16.0.2 and I still have the focus issue on third party apps that use the camera to read qr codes. Does not focus on nearby objects. Example: The Whatsapp application that allows you to use other devices to read the messages, does not work because when you want to read the code it is blurred. The same if i want read barcodes on the amazon app. Total blurred. I can't, the camera won't focus.

Skipped right past 16.0.2?

Really the only thing that’s bugging me in iOS 16 so far is when Siri gives directions she tells you to make a “you TURN!” instead of a “U turn”.

That’s because the minimal focus distance is more then previous iPhones.
it should switch to the ultrawide lens (macro) like de original camera does

Downloaded 16.0.2:

1. When you launch the stock camera app and click on 2x, does the picture "shake" outside of the crop area? Not sure if this is normal or a hardware defect on my unit.

2. When I launch the camera on Instagram there is an audible click followed by a constant hissing sound. Doesn't happen in the stock camera app. Is this normal?
