Can someone who has an iphone 14 pro max check if it can read barcodes on the amazon app? I can't, the camera won't focus.
FYI the new wide camera needs to be further back by an additional ~2" for focusing due to the difference in focal length compared to the previous Pros.

Never been this riddled with problems.
Bullcrap. There were numerous and hilarious bugs that should have shown up during alpha testing in every instance of the desktop OS and iOS, many of which Apple vehemently denied happened and fixed in later .* releases.
My favorite was this one:

iPhone 14 pro max. Haven’t done the update yet but I see the jiggle outside the frame on 2x. I’m guessing that is due to the way they are cropping and using only the center 12megapixels of the sensor. Kinda makes sense that would happen and may just be the way it is.

I also hear the hiss when the camera app is open. You do have to hold it up to your ear but it stops as soon as the camera is closed. Very odd. Almost like the microphone is outputting white noise. This should be fixable.

I’ll check again after I update to 6.02 but betting those will be those same still.

Also every time I get an update and it asks me to accept the new terms and conditions I think of the south park episode where they kidnap those people and sewed them together into the HumancentIpad. "You agreed to this"
It didn't read it? Why didn't it read it?

Hmmm time to take the plunge and update my 12 pro now? Ya or Nay?
It's really up to you. Right now I'm on 15.6.1 and I just upgraded to that a couple of weeks ago. For me and my opinion is this, if it's working I leave well enough alone. Sure I'd love the new features but probably 80% of the new stuff I don't use anyway. I have outstanding battery life on this version and it's buttery smooth. So I'm gonna wait to update to 16 or 16.1 until around christmas time or new years even. I'm in no rush.

Seems like there are some pretty serious bugs this time around and I'd rather wait for them to get ironed out first.

Nah, it's WFH.
It'll be interesting to hear from everyone how many of the items from this list have been resolved with this latest update.

One minor glitch I see on mine is that from the lock screen, when swiping up to unlock (I'm weird in that I have faceID turned off for this, so I type a code each time), it stutters for juts a split second- it's not a smooth transition to that unlock code screen as it was on my 13 Pro.

Otherwise, so far- knock on wood- I haven't had any other issues. I haven't synced my phone up to my car yet to test out CarPlay. Wireless CarPlay was flawless on my car with my 13 pro, so I will be quite upset if that experiences goes downhill with this new phone.

Poor camera performance ?
then I must be lucky

Me too. I've actually had no issues. But there have been reports of the camera app taking 5 seconds to open, and slow focus. My wife experienced the random reboots on her 14 Pro while charging and had to exchange.

Both still there post update. I would never have noticed the noise if I hadn’t read it and held it near my ear. Very odd. Still it sounds less like a mechanical issue.

I still think the 2x shaking outside the frame is the software figuring out where the crop is happening and not really a big deal.

Has anyone noticed if the camera noise is audible in videos recorded? I think I hear it.

People like you are the reason I rarely interact with MR forums. I hope you have the day you deserve. ✌️
What up!!! I can see why you'd feel this way but still voice your opinion on things. That's what this place is for. Don't listen to that other poster. Most are keyboard warriors and nothing more..

Please don't say you aren't seeing it yet...You will. You're not special or unique.
Chill bro!!! He was just telling you of his experience.. Maybe re-read the last 5 words of your post and look in the mirror.

People do tend to say stupid things quickly without thinking to either get attention or because they don't know any better. I'm not sure what category these two fine people fall under. But you are not among them. 👍

does not fix the iPhone 14 Pro max issue where some are getting random reboots when charging wired or mag.

I hope this also address iMessage in the cloud issues as well.
it was last week friday iOS 16.0.1 that should be fix if you have update it ?

I still hear a permament white noise coming from the camera, even while the stock camera app is open. I have to put my ear close to the phone to hear, but its still there all the time. normal?
no reason for the noise, I get it too, it’s like the speaker bug on older iOS where the speaker used to stay active and run the battery down. Fortunately it cuts off when you exit the camera app.

I just updated my 14 Pro Max. I wasn’t having the common issues people have discussed, but I did notice a sluggishness in 16 for anything that hit the network. My cable tv app took forever to change channels. Any spotlight search would sit and grind. Basically it was all slow. No longer! Zippity fast! 🥰
