Perfect timing. My 14 Pros have been sitting here unopened since yesterday lol.

This years bug was hardware damaging, and I couldn’t get a replacement in the third world.

I’ve seen this regurgitated several times but there isn’t any evidence that it’s true. I’m personally not worried about it. 🤷‍♂️

interesting observation about the copy and paste bug I hadn't noticed at a glance: the apostrophe is upside down lol
iOS 16 is full of grammar errors. I noticed a lot since my iPhone is in another language. I can’t believe there are errors in English too. This does seem to scream wfh issues. There’s just not the same productivity, no matter how much we want to believe it is the same.

Apple today released iOS 16.0.2, addressing a number of bugs that iPhone 14 owners have been experiencing since the new devices launched. iOS 16.0.2 comes two weeks after the launch of iOS 16, and it follows iOS 16.0.1, an update made available to iPhone 14 owners on launch day. The update is available for all iPhones that are capable of running iOS 16.

The iOS 16.0.2 update can be downloaded on eligible iPhones over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, iOS 16.0.2 addresses bugs a number of bugs that have been impacting the iPhone 14 models and other iPhones running iOS 16. It addresses an issue that could cause the camera to vibrate and shake in third-party camera apps, it fixes a bug that led to repeated copy and paste popups, and it resolves a problem causing the display to appear black during setup.

It also fixes an issue that caused some iPhone X, XR, and iPhone 11 models with replaced displays to become unresponsive after updating to iOS 16. Apple's release notes for the update are below:

All of these bugs were found shortly after the new iPhones launched. The camera vibration issue is one of the more serious bugs as it causes the rear camera to shake uncontrollably when filming video in apps like Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram. The stock Camera app is not affected, and until now, there was no workaround or fix.

As for the copy and paste bug, Apple confirmed that it was not normal behavior last week. Apps are not supposed to ask for permission to access the clipboard with every single paste attempt, and the issue has already been addressed in the iOS 16.1 beta.

Apple is already working on iOS 16.1, which will be released alongside iPadOS 16.1 sometime in October.

Anyone else experiencing issues with battery draining? After restoring from back up and using the iPhone for a few days the phone would rain even when idle. Ruined off always on display and made sure anything that could affect batter life was off. Still didn’t work. Then erased and set up as new. Still the same issue

I just installed ios 16.0.2 and I still have the focus issue on third party apps that use the camera to read qr codes. Does not focus on nearby objects. Example: The Whatsapp application that allows you to use other devices to read the messages, does not work because when you want to read the code it is blurred. The same if i want read barcodes on the amazon app. Total blurred. I can't, the camera won't focus.
Ok let me try this to see if this is a general issue or you have a problem with your phone.

I can confirm that the burdensome/annoying permission to paste glitch still effects CloudClip - have reported that - OS has to make it possible via an option/setting to AT LEAST set pasting as ok in each app, maybe system wide but that’s a security black hole. It MIGHT have something to fo with adding data to icloud?
I knew this wasn’t an easy fix. For me it seems pretty clear the way the system is designed right now, they can’t know if a user is giving the command to paste or if it is the app. Seems like Apple cut out the middle man and instead makes the app access another app to get the info that needs to be pasted. This doesn’t makes sense at all. There’s no clipboard? If I go to twitter and copy something it should be added to my clipboard. Then if I want to paste it the app where I’m going to paste it should access my clipboard to get the info. How on earth does the app knows where the info comes from? Why would the app need to access the other app info at all?

There should be no way for the pasting app to know from where I copied the data.

I wouldn’t be concerned. I didn’t know what was going on on Sunday and even then I only had it happen two times for a few seconds until I got out of the app and then Monday tried it again to see if the app update fixed it. But if you only had it for a few seconds it’s fine.

Even the use on a motorcycle is after long term. Miles of use. So I think we all good
Yeah; that’s not what you should be concerned. What you should be concerned is why your phone acts like that and others don’t? Is it because your phone is defective? Should you return it? Is the update a way to minimize the impact it has on defective phones?

Seems like the always on is dimmer after this update? Is this true? Anyone else feeling that?

This fix homekit for anyone? Having all kinds of issues since release of iOS 16. Proximity Automations haven’t worked since.

Showing up as proper 16.0.2 for me.
Same. Some are seeing 16.0, but I definitely got 16.0.2 in the name.

Not sure why little things like these keep getting missed; this is a pretty important place to get the details right. People might well ignore it "well, I'm already on iOS 16.0" and then damage their camera.

It would be impossible to do that. The update fixed my issue. Some people thought they didn’t have it and then bam had it randomly today.

I sure hope to is fixes my issues of major battery drain, hot phone, and apps that stick when opening them and then they don’t finish loading making you refresh the button to get it to load. If not, just going to take my SIM card out and go back to my old Huawei phone until apple can get their act together

no reason for the noise, I get it too, it’s like the speaker bug on older iOS where the speaker used to stay active and run the battery down. Fortunately it cuts off when you exit the camera app.
The hissing is completely normal. I hear it on my 12 Pro Max too. If you own a stabilized camera you would hear it too. It’s the sensor/optical image stabilization working to balance the lens in real time.
