What's the deal with using this on an old 3G?
I never upgraded to 4.0 due to the many bad things I read about it.

Your phone is no longer supported, you dont even get this update on a 3G

did the download, the personal hotspot works GREAT! No action required from AT&T to use it, either!

You must have already had tethering enabled?

What Ive done to eliminate the hassle of this is after restore is all of my burned tracks (only cuase they werem't available in iTunes) I converted them to AAC, thus creating a folder for them in iTunes Music. Then transferred the entire iTunes Music folder from my PC to my work computer via thunb drive, thus if it ever happens again, its no probs. I can restore and easily be back to normal without breaking a sweat.

Home sharing is surprisingly difficult to get working. I followed this guide:

And finally got my shared library to show up on the iPad, but selecting it just gave me a spinner and nothing happened for at least 5 minutes. Now I can't even see my shared library at all.

Oh well, I'll stick with StreamToMe and Air Video, which are really simple and actually work.

EDIT: OK, I had to reboot the iPad *twice*, and it's finally working. Weird.

Zero problems here, not on iPad or iPhone 4. I work from home, so I'll probably never sync my iPad again unless I'm going out of town. (I kid. People should sync their iPads once in a while just to back them up. But, seriously, no problems with setting up home sharing. Maybe your wifi was being wonky at just the wrong moment. I sometimes have problems getting Airplay consistently streaming upstairs because the wifi is downstairs.)

The photo optimization process on the first post-update sync about caused me to pull my hair out, though.

Looks like BBC iPlayer in the UK doesn't let you stream to the Apple TV 2 - the button doesn't come up on the iphone.

If you try streaming YouTube, it still only lets you stream audio. Weird. I know there's an option on the Apple TV 2 menu for YouTube, but I thought this update let us stream video and audio too?

They are only on the iPad and must be enable through XCode, unless you're jailbroken.

THE NEW FACETIME ICON IS HIDEOUS! I liked the green icon- it gave some color to my home screen. If anything, they should have made the iPad 2's Facetime icon the green one. Apple has been slipping with icon design lately in my opinion. Couldn't they leave well enough alone?

Just updated to 4.3 and now bookmarks will not sync.

Don't know if it has been said, but those lousy txt tones that we got with 4.2, some of them have been shortened. Ones I've noticed are Spell, Calypso, Choo Choo (now just 1 Choo), Fanfare, and Ladder. Bug I found so far is even if you have Vibrate off (above the Ringtone) and go through the txt tones, it still vibrates. Doesn't vibrate when a txt comes in though.
