So how have you got gestures, with Xcode?

SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG ON THIS.

You gotta have a Developer account. You can download xCode in the Mac App Store for $5. IF YOU have a Developers account you can download it free $99/year for it.

Plug you're iPad to your computer, then open xCode, and a other window should pop up. Something like "Turn iPad into a Developer Device" or something can't remember. Then bam! Gestures! That's what I did, before xCode cost something to get.

SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG ON THIS.

Can't wait to get home to install this update.

Does anyone know if you can share music from your mac to the ipad, and then play it over an airplay speaker system? I can't find anything about this on Apple. Is there even a decent Airplay speaker out yet?

I can't get this to work with video. The audio for the video will play, but not the video. Assuming this is a DRM issue. Haven't tried music yet, but as there is no DRM on music anymore, I bet it will work. Unless you have legacy Fairplay DRM tracks in your iTunes library. Those may not double-stream.

Tethering works like a charm with Rogers, i Needed to put my 6 gb data plan to use.

My iPad is very happy today, no longer have to swap sim cards:)

Just updated my iPod Touch 4G with 4.3 but frustratingly 10.2.1 keeps stalling when I try to install on my PC laptop running on Windows 7. Arrrgggghhhhhh!!!! Can't update my iTunes on my iBook G3 as I don't have Snow Leopard on it plus it's running like treacle.

That'll teach me for buying a PC as a stopgap replacement for my iBook  Come on Apple, get a move on with the Sandy Bridge iMacs!

On the plus side, Safari is really running zippy! Definite improvement.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Just downloaded. Home sharing works great!

"3rd gen" 8gb iPod Touches

I'm sure many are aware already, but I just found out that if you (or I) have an 8gb iPod Touch there is no chance that it is a 3rd or 4th gen, even though they were sold in the Apple Store soon after the release of the 3rd gens. Sad day!

With the release of iOS 4.3, Apple introduced:

∙Ping features
∙Push notifications for comments and follow requests
∙Post and Like songs directly from the Now Playing screen
∙Parental controls

Where do you go to access these features???

Anyone have a theory why this update caused my iPhone 4 to brick, now restoring it but its super annoying :( Never happened before with my old iPhone 3G or this iPhone 4.

Well, it happened to me while applying the 4.x update... :(
If it happens again with this update, I'll be sooooo mad...

I might even switch to Android.... OK, maybe not.... But still, I'll be dargn mad...

If you hit the center button on your remote on this screen it will toggle to show iOS4.3. This is confusing, but apple has chosen to show it as Apple TV version 4.2, which is actually iOS version 4.3.

Thanks. You are right with the button. (Btw—how did you find that out!?) The info changes from "Apple TV-Software" to "OS Build-Version":

Can't remember if I read it here back when the aTV was first released and everyone was worried that it was 4.0 when iOS was already 4.1, or if I just hit the wrong button once and noticed it.

Just updated.. where the hell is the personal hotspot options? I cant find it at all :S

Photo output a mess again

After listening to customer complaints on how iOS 3 messed with the iPhone's ability to output photos with the composite cable, Apple fixed the problem. Now with iOS 4.3, they've screwed it up again. The only way the photos show on an external monitor now is as a continuous slideshow. If the slideshow is paused, the screen blanks. Does anyone know if things will work differently with Apple's new HDMI adapter?

As had been rumored yesterday after a false start, Apple has just released iOS 4.3 to the public, two days ahead of schedule. Updates are available for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, and users should be able update their devices by connecting them to iTunes and clicking the "Check for Update" button.

iOS 4.3 brings a number of enhancements including AirPlay video compatibility for third-party apps and websites, Safari speed improvements, Home Sharing to stream media from any iTunes library to an iOS device via Wi-Fi, and a new option for customizing the iPad's side switch to serve as a mute toggle or screen orientation lock. Finally, iOS 4.3 brings personal hotspot functionality to the GSM iPhone 4 following the feature's debut on the Verizon iPhone last month.

Great news, this update was more then need it.

Why isnt personal hotspot on my phone after I just updated :S seriously im getting frustrating by this... is this all to do with Tesco since im using them or something?

How do I use Home Sharing? :p

I agree.

I downloaded 4.3 on my iPhone 4. no issues.
My iTunes account on my Mac Mini is set to homeshare "on"

now what?
My Remote app on my iphone has a sharing option but when touched, it doesnt show any libraries or anything....
So how exactly do we access the media on the iPhone?
I also typed in my apple id on the iphone Remote app.

I was hoping to be able to see movies and listen to music on my Mac Mini iTunes....

So how does this all work? I see no media.

Does it not appear in Settings>General>Network ?
Maybe Tesco mobile's network pref files don't support any kind of tethering?
