Still the same least on my 4S

I've turned off Siri. Problem solved.

And in case you are wondering why, I'm tired of the volume problems, the fact that the servers work maybe 50% of the time, the fact that Siri actually has to freaking contact the servers just for me to access the contact list ON MY PHONE and make a call. Which fails about half the time because the servers are not responding.

Yeah, I know its beta. That's fine. I'll start using it when it goes gold.

I jailbreaked my ipad1 just for multitasking gestures^^

the ota update seems not to work...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Battery life still draining super fast. Dropped 8% in an hour.

I still can not believe Apple did not do anything regarding the caller ID issue. They want us to memorize every single number?! It is a basic feature to have..a caller ID instead of their numbers... Thats it Apple just do the correct the damn thing

What?

How many beta users are there compared to the number of 3GS, 4 and 4S users.
Apparantly not enough seeing we had to have an update to fix the battery issues that (some) of us complained about during the beta... :p

Actually, it is. You see, I was smart enough to start my own successful business, so I can not only work where I please, but also afford new-fangled, fancy things like wireless routers. It's funny. There's this thing called currency. You work for it, then you can buy products that other people work to make.

"Products" in this case includes wireless routers.
Sigh, you are right... I am too poor to be able to afford a router... or too stupid to hook up my router to Uncle Sams network... why don't I just tell my security officer how I don't want to keep my clearance (in DC no less)... maybe that will make the update (that I am happy to be getting at all) appear on my phone faster...

Then don't get locked up. :D
:D

What Caller ID issue?

Help....
Just updated my 4S. Now my contacts' names don't display in Messages. Only their numbers. I tried deleting the conversations and re-texting them, but that didn't help.

Any ideas? (I didn't read the rest of this thread, so sorry in advance if it's been asked.)

Will update tonight but my new 4S is doing ok on battery life. I tested last night set brightness to full, turned off auto-lock and left a long movie playing via netflix streaming. When I woke up the phone still had 36% battery life, seems ok to me.

over the air in US

yup yup I got the update over the air in the US. it tool about 1 minute or so. yay

I've now gotten this message on my iPad1 twice:
"Software update failed: An error occurred downloading iOS 5.0.1" The iPad is not JB but I did use Cydia to enable muti touch control a couple of weeks ago. I suspect this is the problem. Anybody got any ideas? I'm not the most tech inclined.

If you have Cydia on your iPad, then it is jailbroken. I haven't been JB for several months now, but I recall reading that OTA updates don't work on jailbroken devices. You will have to do a restore in iTunes.

heres mine for the iPad, ota

CONFIRMING THIS.

This is still an issue with 5.0.1.

Very frustrating.

Looks like the Location Services>System Services bug is still present...

Setting Time Zone is keeping GPS on continuously

iPhone 4 (clean install of iOS5/set up as new phone) upgraded OTA to 5.0.1

Nice smooth OTA update to iPad 1. Seems pretty smooth. The typing lag has gone.

Looking forward to seeing the headlines on all the tech sites about the code signing vulnerability being fixed :rolleyes:

Updated iPad 2, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. Battery life wasn't bad to begin with but now it's phenomenal. :D

And yet you're not smart enough to understand what the quoted poster was actually saying.

Damn it, no WIFI here at work so I'm stuck with iTune and the damn file is 813mb!?
