i've not had that problem. i had some glitches when i restored from backup on beta 1, so i started again from clean install and no restoring at all. i think you might have hit the nail on the head with your last line, there's a very valid reason why the notes said not to restore from backup and install totally as fresh and you situation epitomises it.

yea one suggestion i got from someone was to completely restore it clean, which i really dont want to do because ill lose everything

I was getting ready to mention this!!! This is a big deal to some of us. I have two hours between one job and another to get everything synced back up and was afraid I was going to be pushing it. But my phone is syncing on wifi while the iPad gets the USB cable due to more data. I am very impressed by this.

I am acting like a kid with a new toy and clicking from one to the other and watching the status switch in the message window!

When you scroll up in messages to read old messages, the keyboard hides so that you can view them on the whole screen. Super useful!

SUPER awesome feature. Love that in Android, so happy they added it here, especially with the screen size.

Was the same for me. Even after a clean install.
So I had to disable both "Find my iPhone" and Ping and battery went back to like it was before. I'll try to enable them back with beta 2 and see.

Damn!! I already have those two disabled!!!

Ive taken Skype off as an experiment!

Calendar no longer works me. I just get a blank "book" whenever I try to open it up Tapping the screen does nothing, it's just blank and non-functional.

Downloaded everything and when I connected my iPhone to update got this message. Same thing with iPad. Anyone knows why I'm getting that?

Installed 10.5.2 then restore worked for me. Originally tried with Xcode and there was a glitch

Is your device connected to a Wi-Fi network or 3G? It needs to be Wi-Fi

Via USB I'm getting this hang, and in order get my notes to sync I had to go nuclear and "Replace" them on my phone.

Same problem with Calendar on iPad. Totally busted.

Seems to work momentarily if you disable all of your calendars, open the app, then re-enable your calendars. It will work for about a minute then freeze again.

Always why it's called a beta lol.

Does 5b2 fix the problem where iPads would hang when they were off and then wouldn't wake up?

I'm not willing to wipe my iPad AGAIN unless that's fixed.

Hmm I already did. Something else must be up...

You have to enable it in iTunes under summary of your device. Works great for me on Lion DP4 and ipad 2 and iPhone 4.

One question though, does anywhere know where to find the rain background that Apple shows on the lock screen when demoing iOS 5? Not sure where else to post this question but here.

Pretty weird... All my cals work great across all devices (using iCloud for cal now)

Two things. On the iPad, has the shutoff thing been fixed? Second probably an issue very few run into, but with pages, on beta 1 I was unable to connect to WebDAV or transfer files via iTunes. Can anyone see if this has been fixed?

I'm not getting the Wi-Fi sync option... using beta 2 for both iTunes and iOS 5.... I'm on Win7 64.

edit: scratch that, found out it's Mac only for now...
