My syncing somehow just started working properly after being prompted to "type my device's passcode to unlock" ... (on the phone) ... this is so weird.

I hope I make it to Beta 3 without losing any data.

At first I couldn't get it to work but I realized my wifi was off. I turned wifi on first, and disabled ethernet and restarted. I finally got it to come up. I then turned on ethernet, and disabled wifi, and now it works over ethernet!

in settings, the iCloud and Twitter links are greyed out, they are broken or something.... anyone else experiencing this?

Anyone having issues with activation for facetime and imessage for their phone number? Mine seems stuck on waiting for activation... Worked flawlessly on beta 1.

New Stuff

I don't feel like reading the entire thread to see if anyone else brought this up but:

and you can also "swipe down" on the keyboard in the messages app to make it go away.

Looks like it's considerable larger, as a person who suffers from "fat finger" syndrom, this is a much needed addition.

I somehow managed to downgrade from 5.0 Beta 1 to 4.3.3 again while restoring. I started the process in XCode, but I had iTunes open which prompted me to restore since the phone was in DFU mode. o_O

Indeed! It works quite a bit better. The entire beta is refreshingly improved since using beta 1 since it was available.

Is it just me or has everyone glossed over the part where Apple says they will be clearing the iCloud storage periodically until the GM?

That's good to hear, as someone who went back to iOS 4.2.8 on my Verizon iPhone because I was obsessed with using Square, I've wanted to go back to iOS 5 as soon as I could. I'm a Developer, but wanted the functionality that Square allowed me to give my customers as well. Looks like I'll be going to Beta 2, since I just got an iPad, and can use Square on it :)

Ah right, I thought it had been a wee bit longer than 20 minutes lol.

Just wondered if it was a wee bit smoother than Beta 1, if anyone can be kind enough to let us know once they've had time to use it for themselves, it'd be appreciated. Beta 1 wasn't awful by any stretch of the imagination, but it wasn't quite as "fluid" as 4.3 ... I don't imagine too much work will have gone into optimising the UI just yet though.

Things seems to be much more responsive so far. Not nearly so much freezing a Beta 1.

Not really complaining because the feature is awesome but he kept going on about how quick it was and that (to me) did not seem quick at all in comparison to wired syncing.

That is pretty much the norm for any betas. I don't think anybody is suprised about this.

It seems like the iPad's music player has a mind of its own in this build. I have grayed out songs, wacky album artwork, and duplicate artwork everywhere. Crazy!! lol

I had that issue in beta 1. it is not as bad on beta 2 for me. at least everything plays and such like normal.
