it's only a bubble at first, once your screen goes off and you then light it back up, it's how it looked in beta 1
Ehhh. They need to just get rid of the bubble (beta 1 style) or use the same bubble we have now. The gradient on the new one is just gross

And functionality wise... if I get a new text I'd like to see all the notification banners right away, not only after its been asleep

wifi sync

I have some glitches sometimes when I sync, such as getting an error that says a file can't be found, or it can not connect to my device, or else it gets to the last step where it reconciles the changes and it seems to hang up.

My question, however, is if you have the sync over wifi connection is selected and you also have the device connected by USB, will it still try to use wifi or does it default back to the faster USB connection?

This will help me trouble shoot, so thx.

On a positive note, links from web pages to YouTube videos finally work when the YouTube app automatically opens.

I couldn't play music purchased from iTunes or ANY video on my GSM iPad 2, on the first beta, and I still can't on Beta 2. Is anyone else experiencing this problem.

I can get by with the lack of music because I can use my iPhone, but not being able to play any video is a major inconvenience that I was playing this beta release would fix.

Try turning off sound check in the music settings. Worked for me, for the music at least. No problems (beyond the ones everyone else is talking about) for me.

Had anyone noticed bad battery, I had the same on beta 1 and turned something off an it fixed it but don't remember???

Me too but the update didn't change any settings. Someone mentioned it could take a while for the system to recognize the battery status correctly.

i quite like it, it looks good on the phone when you see it, a screenshot on here doesn't do justice. anyway you can't please everyone!! if you have more than 1 text you will see them all afaik, i've not had chance to test it yet, will come back when i have and update (if i remember!)

well i had a problem in beta 1 with the weather widget draining as it checks location everytime you open the notification centre, so i turned that off, but dunno if it was that or it just adjusted naturally

Am I the only one that thinks the new lockscreen bubble is hideous? The beta 1 banner looked much cleaner
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; de-de) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

those stupid new bubbles on the lockscreen r just as annoying as the old notification system. they need to change it bk to beta1
Ditto. Why go back to pre-iOS5 days??? The new bubbles look horrendous and are no different from the iOS4 ones. Gawd, I hope they revert to the consistent look in the first beta.

Baseband?

Will someone please tell me what the baseband (aka Carrier) version is?

I have a 3G Microcell, and we've been having loads of problems with it. The latest allegation is that there is a baseband fix that will address these problems for Microcell users, and the appearance of a new baseband version is suggestive that there might be better behavior in iOS 5.

carrier on mine is 10.2.2
basedband is 04.11.06

I don't know. I ran beta 1 and also spent all day playing with beta 2 and I'm just not feeling it. Notifications are better and yeah, I can make folder in the picture app, but overall, it's a big yawn for me. Doubt I'd even bother upgrading if it ends up slowing the phone down at all.

This and a refreshed iPhone 4 in september. :(

I had issues with Navigon today with Beta 2. I was using the Magellan GPS cradle (adding an external GPS for greater accuracy) and it struggled to find my exact location. It kept putting me in different directions, on different streets. Every now and then it would work itself out, but it was off more then on. Beta 1 worked fine.

About 11 hours today, ate 19% of battery. Push two email accounts with calendar, manual fetches and Prowl the rest. Usage includes a bit of texting, a few photo taking with Photo Stream on, Google Map GPS for 5 minutes, browsing the net, some app usage and push notifications, and an app with significant-location-change service ON 100% of the time, with the arrow icon on (<-- guess it shows this service really doesn't use much power)

If you switch to the built-in Google Maps you might have seen the "rotate iPhone in figure 8 direction" instructions? Needs recalibrating once in a while in cars. Might not be strictly a beta 2 thing?

Yeah, it's actually the first thing I tried, and no avail. I'm waiting to see if anyone else has this issue, as maybe it is just me?

Is it just me or does pasting not work in Safari? I can copy just fine and paste in the address bar or search bar. But actually pasting in fields within the browser are a no go.

I can't find the post in here that talked about it, but is it safe to use iCloud yet?

As stated in the developer notes, icloud data may be deleted at any time.

Ok thank you!

The GPS location services is gone from the reminders app now, I don't recall reading that in the release notes but I could've overlooked it.... Battery life for my 3GS is most definitely better in beta 2..

Just sync/backup from the device. From the Mac you can manage/transfer.

This made me sad for a minute, until I watched the video. He selectively put an album on his iPod wirelessly. That's what I meant, and now I'm so excited.

Anyone having either of these issues...

1. Same album art for multiple items in the Music app?
2. Faces in the Photos app not working?
