I feel like this is an annoying post, but I also feel that I may have done something wrong.
All of my info is gone. My contacts are there, but my e-mail accounts are gone, folders gone, txt messages gone, unheard voicemails are gone, etc, etc, etc...
and yes, I did back up before i installed iTunes and iOS 5 B2
edit: it's also syncing apps that i've long deleted

I has a similar problem updating my iPad. Try reinstalling just the backup (not the whole iOS update). I did and everything came back as it should.
Well, apparently, the backup that I created just before installing all of the new has vanished. It's been replaced by about 4 new backups since. :/
Thankfully there was one from just before installing Beta 1. I don't think that I've changed much since then.

I am having the same issues with the music app, it shows the artwork for the last item synced for a large number of my music/podcasts/audiobooks.
Also when I select an artist no art work shows up at first, but when I scroll it suddenly shows up.
I have also noticed that the podcast/audiobook specific controls (back 30 secs, double speed, etc.) are missing on my iPad, I believe these were missing in beta 1 as well, but I can't remember.

Idk of this quoted on mobile. But I do have audiobook controls on iPhone4b2. I however do not have faces, places in my photo app... I did restore from backup.. So that might be breaking it. I also have not plungged into iPhoto which might fix it.. I hope

The controls show on my iPhone as well, just not on my iPad. It's a bit of a pain, when I missed something on my audiobook and tried to rewind a bit I ended completely losing my place.
Quit iTunes and reopen it. If that doesn't work reboot Mac. Also make sure you are on Lion or 10.6.8.
Rebooting the Mac will cure problem so long as you have latest operating as above.
I am having the same album art in Music app bug. I already filed the bug, but please file it again. And attach the screenshot.
Edit: Obviously I know this is beta, but it's a really strange bug that was introduced in beta 2. I re-synced my iPad with no music to remove it all, then re-synced it, and this time it shows a different album for all the album art. So it's a really strange bug.
iPad 2 lockup and hard reset issue?

iPad 2 (wifi only) is locking up hard after going to sleep for an indeterminate time. I close my smart cover and the iPad 2 goes to sleep. When I open the cover sometimes (not all the time), the screen does not come on and none of the buttons are responsive. Indeed, the only way to get it back on is to do a hard reset by holding Power and Home simultaneously for > 10 seconds. Then the Apple logo appears and the iPad 2 boots just fine.
Like I said, it doesn't do it all the time, but it's already done it a half dozen times or so since installing beta 2. It did a few times on beta 1, but it seems worse now.
Anyone else having this problem? Any workarounds or solutions?

On beta 1 , if you clicked in the safari search window while in any web page, the keyboard would automatically pop up and a second search box would apear at the top of the keyboard allowing you to search for key words on the page you were looking at ..... This appears to be gone is beta 2 which is a real shame as that was a really nice option.
I am a dev tester for a developer who is a friend. I have the CDMA iphone 4 i was wondering if the baseband reverts back when i step back down to 4.2.8. I want to help him out but do not want to end up with a bricked phone. I did an ipad update and roll back it was a cinche did not even loose a thing. I am just worried cause it is a phone with baseband. I am not a jailbreaker so that is not an issue just want to make sure i can get back to a known good state before i start to jack this bad boy up. Hell Xcode 4.2 briked the Ipad 2 i was working with i had to do a DFU restore in itunes beta 10.5 2. I know beta software no complaints just asking for some feed back
Has anyone had trouble syncing their phones? Mine will not sync, the button to sync is greyed out on iTunes. I cannot restore from my backup or anything. My UDID is registered and was fine on beta 1.

I had trouble with this it kept getting to the 6 of 6 part then it would tell me the iPhone could not be synched, But i restarted my Macbook then soft restarted the iPhone and bobs ur uncle it worked

If your iPhone is syncing via wifi, and then when you connect via usb during this process, it automatically switches to delivering via usb, as the sync will speed up. I haven't tried unplugging the usb to see if it continues via wifi just out of fear since apple has taught us in the past not to do this before the wifi method came about.
