What I don't like is noobs entering the iOS or Mac Dev Portals to complain and ask stupid **** on the Developer Forums. These betas shouldn't be allowed for every kid who wants some cool new features to show off to friends before majority have it. So many posts in those forums are could be answered in a second if the person was an actual developer. It's just frustrating.

Yeah, 1. I don't have a developer account, 2. I'm not downloading the betas, 3. Because of #1, I can't access the dev forums. Seriously.

I use the iPod touch 4th gen. for development. Picture editing is present in this release, and speed seems to be slightly improved, too

Thanks! Can't wait!

Has anyone seen this?

What the heck is that? o_O

OMG are you for real?

Obviously! Apple been drop the iPhone 3G from further updates. Like you should know this and like you just played yourself buddy. How expect to go from 4.2.1 to 5.0. Your tripping. You better upgrade to iPhone 3GS or 4

Alright, I think it's enough. If you read earlier, you'd see they said they forgot the "S" on the end and they *do* have the 3GS.

Yes, that's also a point I forgot to make. (Plus I wasn't directing any of it toward you, just a lot of people that are into these betas that aren't devs) So many people in the dev forums aren't actual developers, they're just people that dished out $99 to get access to the betas. I get it that $99 gives them the right to the betas and all, but most of them don't know a single thing about DFU mode, what GSM means, or even how update to a beta. Just felt like venting my female emotions, because it's rather annoying. Very annoying. :)

A quick google of "9A5220p" seems to show that it is iOS beta 1. Before doing anything, you'll need to sync/backup using iTunes beta 1. Then upgrade iTunes to beta 3. Then restore your phone to iOS beta 3.

Thanks garrettj. Can you please tell me where to download iTunes beta 3? I tried going to https://developer.apple.com/icloud/installation/ but the website says "You do not have access to this resource based on your membership." I had my udid registered with a Dev account back when I installed the first beta. Thanks.

It is the menu from the Assistive Touch options

Forgot about that. I was wondering what it was as none of the videos I've watched on iOS 5 have gone into it. Thanks for the pictures. :)

Ah, ok. I understand. :)

I'm not a developer, but I did register and am using the betas on my iDevices. For me it is not about having the features to show my friends, but about being an apple enthusiast and trying out whats about to come around the corner. It might sound silly, but to me it is exciting. If you take the time to read, just about any question regarding the beta's can be answered.

Looking forward to beta 3 tonight!

I get that, but your case seems very different than from what I'm used to. I just think if someone has no idea how to even turn an iPhone on, they shouldn't be accessing betas or confidential forums lol.

hmm email notifications on lock screen dont seem to light up the iphone when in sleep mode any more, anyone else notice this?

You need to relax. And probably go hang out in the developer forums which would be much more meaningful and productive to you than hanging out here looking down your nose (since last month.)

So I tried restoring to update to Beta 3 and I get this message: The iPhone could not be restored because the firmware is not compatible.

I have iTunes Beta 3 and iOS 5 Beta 3.

I agree. I know what DFU and GSM means lol. I gave up my jailbreak for this!

Go to Settings > Notifications > Mail > View in Lock Screen [On]

This will cause the display to come on when you receive an email. Apple had it set to off by default.

Beta User

I am a beta user. So far Beta 2 was the worst! 1 was pretty usable, but 2 which came out a few weeks ago has not been good. I will switch asap! I hope the next one is better.

It's also a pain in the butt to change beta iOSs.
