Hope this will fix battery life!
How about the crapy maps app?
When they will fixed the road map on my location?

Every apple blog reports 6.0.1's release. Not one person can explain what the hell "Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match" means. Last I heard "consolidate" meant merging into something. They just removed it.

Am I right in thinking Apple couldn't/wouldn't resolve the cellular data bug, so they just REMOVED THE OPTION?

They didn't remove it, it's under Settings -> iTunes & App Stores. They 'consolidated' it with iTunes automatic downloads.

Finally, an answer. Grats. I even saw a couple of mac blogs that stated "Whatever that means" after the consolidation line.

Next question, is it still bugged.

So this option now exists sans the other options in its old location. The new location under stores now also has the same options. This is just super dumb.

913MB? For a .01 release? I thought iOS was doing delta updates now. This is getting ridiculous...

Without more information all I can tell you is the OTA update on an iPhone 5 is around 61 MB (from memory). Your number sounds like the full meal deal that you would expect from updating in iTunes.

I keep this off. It's easy enough to manually download apps and music when I want them right now, and automatically when on Wifi.

It even isn't so much about the data cap, but rather unexpected downloading of a lot of data results in battery drain.

This has been a bug since iOS6, and it's very annoying. I can't access any of my purchased music in iTunes, the tab works but whenever I try to go into the 'all items' tab it shows a spinning wheel then freezes. Happens every time. Is it just me?

I had those same problems, also my springboard (the home screens) kept crashing. It was on my 4th generation iPod touch, which I took to Apple thinking that it was defective for having the problem after wipes and restores. Were the two of you experiencing this on a 4th generation iPod touch?

So did they "fix" it?

I was and still am experiencing the crashing app store on iOS 6 and I am using an iPod Touch 4th gen. It seems this particular issue is limited to that device as hardly any iPhone users have been mentioning it.

My iPod Touch had been painfully slow at everything since updating to iOS 6 (just pressing "settings" meant waiting up to 30 seconds staring at a blank screen before it would actually go to settings!) and I never regretted any update as much as that one. But I finally got it to a more useable state by restoring and setting up as a new device, rather than from a back up. The app store still crashes but at least I can use the device again without my tea going cold.

Of course, now I have got most of the functionality back, I am reluctant to upgrade to 6.0.1 in case it messes it up again. Once bitten...

Yeah, I did it through iTunes. I don't trust wireless system updates. But I wasn't aware that iTunes doesn't do delta updates. Seems like an odd restriction.

You're just wasting your time. Maybe you will ask apple to ship an update CD if its available?

My phone works well as it is right now so I think I'll sit back and wait instead of updating this time around.

If you wanna be an ******* about it, there's this neat thing called OTA UPDATES.

This is in no way related to your response, but...

From parts unknown? :D

Since upgrading to 6.0.1, iTunes can't find my iPhone over Wi-Fi or USB. I'm restoring my iPhone now...:rolleyes:

With each iOS update, Apple is making Android look more and more appealing.

Awesome! Apple Maps have finally got good satellite images for my area, and most of the UK!!! :D

I posted earlier that Maps was fixed but was totally trolling.

Glad to hear that I tell the truth even when I lie.

The update greatly improved my camera speed. Now it takes pictures right when I press the button.

I tested this, and with the iTunes switch off and a download started on Wifi, the downloads do not continue on LTE when leaving the Wifi zone. Even if you press pause and try to resume the download, it will not start. I turned the iTunes cellular switch back on and the downloads immediately resumed.

Seems like it works to me.

I was affected to the tune of 2.5 Gb in 30-45 min the first day I had my phone and thought it would be a good idea to download some songs at home. When I left home a bit later, I turned off iTunes Match over cellular Good thing I felt the phone getting warm. And I called AT&T and they credited $30 to my account.

Now that I think about it, I believe that's why they consolidated the switch... I believe the old iTunes match switch only mattered when actually listening to music. If you clicked the cloud icon to download, you would have needed the iTunes switch off, not iTunes match.

Ever since iOS6 I am afraid of updating anything.
The team "iOS update" brings back memories of losing Google Maps.
Before iOS6 I was interested in what I get for updating, now it's more about what I lose for updating and minimizing the damage that the upgrade incurs.

I think they need to get more mentions of the word 'iPhone' into those first two sentences, in case people aren't sure what this is for.
