Installing on my 4S, it was a 912.8 meg download for me. I'll see how mine works before updating the wife's, as she uses her's for work. Not eligible for the 5 (aka the 6th gen... stupid naming structure), so I'll be running these updates.

I still find it weird there are no Passbook apps yet. I don't see why Apple didn't push Starbucks and their other partners to release the updated apps *before* the launch of iOS 6.

Interesting how macrumors posted about the iOS 6 update 15 minutes before its official release time, but has yet to post about OS X 10.8.2. Priorities...Macrumors should really be renamed apple rumors or iOS rumors.

Edit 4: Finished downloading after 7 minutes.

Mine is also spazzing out, after writing that message it went down to 1 minute remaining and its been stuck on 1 minute remaining for a few minutes.

Wow, the OTA update process sure ain't quick. I am 25 minutes in on my phone and it just reset. I am sure Apple's servers are getting slammed.

Yeah it took forever to do the update process once downloaded. Interesting.

Fresh Reinstall iOS

How do i make iOS 6 on my 4S a fresh install?

You can erase your iphone or i device in itunes and then store it with the latest OS. Make sure it is backed up first or you will have to reinstall all your apps. I had to do the clean install on my old ipod touch 3rd gen when iOS 5 came out.
basically when you are done it is as if you took the device out of the box for the first time
will up date both ipads and ipod touch this evening

I had to hard reset my phone to get it to show up.

College Station, TX - updated 4S - took ~ 20 min

Started updated at 12:05pm CDT, finished and started using my 4S again at 12:25pm CDT...

Looks good and seems to run smoother than 5.1.1 on the 4S...
