4 is sluggish on iOS 6

Exactly. The i4 only seemed latest tech when it ran iOS5. When the iOS6 upgrade came it slowed the i4 right down. iOS7 has only highlighted how old the handset is even more. Anyone who says that iOS7 hasn't noticeably slowed their iPhone4 down can't be using their phone for anything but calls.

iOS 7 works just fine on my iPhone 4. No lag w/iMessage, all other apps seem to be fine, camera & music work.

May wait though to see how this update pans out.

It slowed my i5 down a bit on boot and safari. My dad's i4 now takes forever to boot and you can brew a cup of tea whilst waiting for newspapers to load in safari.

Extremely correct. I compared my 4S a lot with my friend's 5.

I agree, I run a 4S (about 20 months old) and my wife has a 5 (about 12 months old) and the interface is fluid and the same on both, the 5 feels better because a) the phone is lighter, and b) the screen is bigger so the animations are more epic.

Not true. My iphone 4 is much faster with iOS7.
In every way.

Wrong...
Fact: We bought the product when it was in iOS 6.
Fact: Apple fed us the update to the iOS 7 AFTER we bought the device...

Did someone else press install and then agree for you when the option to update was presented? No need to come in here and cry foul when you did it yourself, and if you didn't then point the finger at whomever it was. Macrumors, land of everyone else's responsibility.

Downgrade it, instructions are available all over the net, and go back to iOS6.

Another small fix

I had noticed that alarms showed up multiple times in the 'Today' screen with 7.0.

I have three alarms: one for weekdays, one for Saturday and one for Sunday. I noticed that the Tomorrow section of the Today screen would list multiple entries for "You have an alarm set for...".

That appears to be fixed in 7.0.2. I had not gotten around to trying to report it.

In every way.

It cannot possibly be. My i5 has a longer boot time so are you saying that the i4 has a shorter one on iOS7? I was shocked at how slow my old i4 (now my dad's) was on iOS7.

Is that all it does? No fix for bitrate-converted music not playing, no fix for the hour-long "waiting for items to sync" screen, no way to keep the control centre enabled but remove the airplane mode button?

This is the first time I've had such big problems with an iOS upgrade. I hope I can downgrade back to iOS 6 for now.

I just updated, and when my phone restarted after the update, it prompted me to set up wifi again, and re-enter my iCloud password. Also, it turned bluetooth on (I always have it off)... is this normal?

Mine turned on bluetooth randomly after the update, but did not ask me for wifi info again...

Mine turned Bluetooth on but wifi details were not prompted for.

They have only removed it from the Control and Notification Centre. It's still there on the lock screen and in search.

And it still doesn't fix multitasking crashes where the Apple screen of death is show as springboard restarts.

You sure you just haven't got the "increase contrast" setting turned on?

100% not. Double checked it was off, toggled and then restarted.

Proof here (kinda, just trust me it was never ON)
