In addition to that, I hope they do something about the crashes as well, especially on my iPad. Safari seems to crash more than I have ever experienced in iOS 6.

Yep I did mean to add the crashing in there also but forgot

I couldn't care less about icon on keys blah blah blah

Just get the 2 main things sorted

1. No crashes on Safari
2. Do not have tabs reload every time we touch into them

Those are the 2 real pet hates of mine and get on my t**s so much :(

Oh that's right, one other problem that was needing addressed but one that I can live with is MAIL, on my Yahoo on my iPhone and iPad it says I have 1 new mail message waiting but when I go and open all the messages there isn't a new one! Not a bad bug but one that still annoys lol

Wallpapers can finally be zoomed all the way out!! Finally....this always made my wallpapers look like crapped on the iPad when it zoomed in

Finally! Wallpapers were terrible on iOS 7 with the ultra zoom in nonsense

Also, does safari constantly still refresh tabs on iPad air?

Most of you are speaking about aesthetic changes while I'm hoping for under the hood changes, especially in memory management.

Agreed. They can keep the visual changes for iOS 8 like previously mentioned by Cougarcat. I think we can all agree that the general experience in iOS 7 just isn't as smooth as iOS 6, with small quirks and problems here and there, which is bugging the hell out of me.

Why cant they just have a keyboard that shows lower case letters, hit the shift lock key and they become capital? How hard can it be to make something that simple?

Whatever it will be, I'm on it. I'm sick of my current jailbroken 7.04 unresponsiveness, but lazy to restore back to stock iOs. Jailbreak works like ****. I wont ever jailbreak my phone ever again.

When is this going to end - this seems like the longest beta ever!
Looking forward to a few fixes..

Yep still refreshing. That's 64bit overhead for you with only 1GB RAM.

Actually that's not entirely accurate. It's a memory management issue in Safari. Of course more RAM would help, but Safari needs to improve its memory management and potential memory leaks have to be fixed. It doesn't help even if you have 10GB RAM and there are memory leaks...

It's better to have a quality release than an early one with issues. We had enough crashes in ios 7, so it's good to see that Apple is taking the time necessary to fix the OS. I am using 7.1 since the first beta and I am very impressed. The OS is much more fun to use and it is really stable and fast. I am sure people will love it.

damn, if Apple didnt want to increase RAM in 2013, they could stay with 32bit OS atleast. Had iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.4- no single crash, with 5S crashing every day and refreshing tabs.... -.-'

I agree. I can't think of a single good reason why the letters shouldn't react to the shift key. I have a feeling that someone at Apple dislikes the way lower case characters look on the keyboard.

I would agree with this someone. I've used other devices where the labels on the keys do switch case and I've hated it. Capital letters on a keyboard look much better and cleaner. Lower case letters on a keyboard look strange and messy. Not to mention, switching the entire keyboard when the shift key is pressed and then changing back as soon as the first letter is types is jarring.

I believe Apple made a good design decision all the way back in the original version of iOS and I hope they continue to stick with it. Otherwise I'm going to have to start jailbreaking in order to change it back.

Why can't they just make it that all the letters on the keybaord are lower case and when you click on the shift key they all show capitalized?

This, for crying out loud!

There's a lot of talk about the shift key - I hope you don't consider that an aesthetic change? That's usability, that's the core of Apple!

The crashes in ios 7 were mainly because of the bad memory management in the 64 bit version. Memory has not that much to do with it.

Would it kill Apple to bring back some of the blue to make things much, much clearer? Or make the actual letters lowercase or uppercase depending on state of the shift key (oh wait, can't do that since Android does it!). They seem to be hell-bent on keeping the look as minimalist as possible, much to the detriment of the user experience. So much for that reputation for good user interfaces... :roll eyes:

I completely agree! Just flippin' make the shift lock key blue like it was in iOS 6! It made the most sense as to when it was on/off. Why is Apple so inclined to use black/white/gray!? Frustrating...

...it's been out for all of 15 minutes. No one with an iPhone 4 even has it installed yet (or, if they do, they haven't for long enough to pass judgement).

Sorry, I did mean the 7.1 beta in general, not just this build.

The crashes in ios 7 were mainly because of the bad memory management in the 64 bit version. Memory has not that much to do with it.

If it isnt issue with hardware, then why it takes so long to fix it o_O beta 5 and major issue persists :/ common more than 5 months passed from iOS 7 release

AirDrop Not Working?????

Ok I just finished downloading beta 5 for both my iPad Air and 5S. Install went smooth as butter, but I have been trying to initiate Airdrop between my iPad and IPhone with absolutely no success. I use airdrop frequently and after thumbing through the iPad and iPhone to see what's changed, I decided to airdrop a website to and from iPad and iPhone. I've restarted both devices multiple times and they will not communicate with one another.

They are both on the same network and Bluetooth enabled. I've noticed that the airdrop icon is always greyed out on one of the devices if I pull them up at the same time. Nonetheless no method works.

Can anyone confirm this with 2 of their iDevices?

Thanks

Yes AirDrop appears to be broken in this beta.
