One of the lucky ones.

I have restarted the phone, tried Wi-Fi, tried cellular, trying hitting try again 20 times hoping it would work..

Nothing. 30 minutes in.

It took me over an hour and I got in right when it was released.

...are you serious?

Yes of course I am!!! Before updating ML and iTunes I plugged my phone in and it offered to update with the options I quoted. After updating both ML and iTunes, I am only offered the option to Cancel or Update.

Sure, use the direct apple links from this article here to get your image so you can restore whenever you want to:

http://www.redmondpie.com/download-ios-7-final-ipsw-for-iphone-5-4s-4-ipad-and-ipod-touch-direct-links/

The speed is good, I downloaded two images in less than 20 minutes. Then use ITunes to update your phone/iPad/iPod.

Use this page to follow the small "click button" step to make sure iTunes uses the file you downloaded:

Thank you very much for such a fast and helpful repsonse.

Thanks to BruiserB as well.

Swipe back feature

Just installed iOS 7 on my Iphone 4S. A couple of things:

Where is the swipe back feature? I am in settings and it does not seem to work when I try to swipe to go back.

Also how is your performance of iOS7 on iPhone 4S?

It seems that installing iTunes 11.1 first helped. As soon as I had, iOS 7 was available for my iPhone 5.

Now it is downloading. However, the download is as slow as molasses. About one-third done, 49 min remaining.
Just got done. I guess, the projection for how long it was going to take was correct.

I never take chances with this kind of thing.

First I update iTunes to 11.1 (the new version that came out today). Then I plugged in my phone, did a sync/backup, then downloaded (just download, not install) iOS 7. Then I did a restore to ensure that everything is completely fresh.

Call me paranoid but I'd rather not take any chances.

Performance on the 4s is fine, much better than early betas. A little slow at times, which can be expected for a 2 year old device.

Sweet! New iPad mini!

on my iPad, the update is downloaded, but won't install. Says install not available, try again later....ugh

Went smooth on my iPhone 4S

Alot of people are with you in that purgatory, myself included. Fails directly, fails through iTunes - the activation servers must be totally overwhelmed.

Same here 30 min plus and still waiting to get past the overwhelmed activation servers. Can't decide if I dare start my iPad before my phone activates again or not...

Hung up on verification

Downloaded the update on both my iPhone and iPad, but it won't get passed the verifying update step.

Guess their servers are getting pounded.

not downloaded this yet. who has had a better experience downloading via itunes or through wifi on software update. how long can i expect to wait.

Dude, save yourself alot of time.

Download it directly from Apple on your Mac or PC (10-15 minutes). This site has the links (be sure and grab the right one for your iThing):

http://www.redmondpie.com/download-ios-7-final-ipsw-for-iphone-5-4s-4-ipad-and-ipod-touch-direct-links/

Then use iTunes to update your iPhone/iPad/iPod and follow this very small set of instruction so you tell iTunes to use the file you just downloaded for the update:

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Download-iPhone-iPod-IPSW-Manually-Restore-via-iTunes-How-to-136037.shtml

In about 20 minutes you'll be done and up in iOS7....waiting on the activation servers which are being overwhelmed at the moment. ;-)

I agree! Thats exactly the route I took now just waiting on activation servers ...

Exactly what I did today. It bricked my phone.

It won't activate and Apple says there is nothing they can do because the activation server is being overwhelmed.

The whole thing, especially animations, is a bit jittery on my iPod Touch 5th gen. Already had Safari crash once as well, and that never happened on iOS 6. Time will tell, but my initial reaction is meh . . . Definitely didn't wow me at first.

Because of the new look and hype surrounding this iOS update I wouldn't be surprised if this update pace is way past the previous record - and now I'm hoping we get to play with our iOS7 devices today...the activation screen is...boring.;)

Yup, that's what I've been doing and waiting... for the past hour and a half...
*tired*

I'm running the iOS 7 beta. Now the GM, but the one before (beta 6 I believe)
The update wasn't available, as it just said I was already running the latest version, so now I'm restoring my phone back to iOS 6.1.4, and then updating. Hopefully it will work

GM is pretty much if not exactly what the release ios7 is. I am in the same boat and just plan on waiting for ios 7.0.1 update to trigger my update (hopefully that works).
