My iPhone had the error a couple of times but it's now on "preparing update". My iPad, however, is on 5 hours remaining. I started them at the same time. Urgh.

I was just waiting for iTunes 11.1 for Windows anyway before I installed the GM. Looks like just installing the GM is the way to go if you want it ASAP.

Check for Update button in iTunes 11.1 is still giving me the "6.1.3 is the current version" story. Guess I'll have to wait another few seconds and click it again!

Over the air attempts keep botching as well.

When 10s of millions are hitting the servers...it has nothing to do with them...it has to do with the pipes going in and out and those roads are bumper to bumper.

Tokyo is a no go

It is 2 am on sept 19th here in Tokyo, I upgraded to 10.8.5 and iTunes 11.1 but my iPhone and iPad Mini are still saying there is no update for me. Darn!

Just locate GM version on the internet and restore or update, instead of waiting for 4 hours to download from apple servers.
