Have a feeling the FCC will be investigating this one.

No touch ID is a non-issue when compared to the fact it is cutting off service for a metric ton of users .My buddy (firefighter, fyi) just tried to dial 911 to see if that even worked and it didn't go through (which is supposed to work even in "no-signal scenarios"). At least in his case it seems like the radio is completely shut off after the update. Lame.

I can confirm that I have no cell service and no touch I.D., after updating.

AT&T, iPhone 6.

Try rebooting the phone & taking out the SIM card

Confirmed - No Service and TouchID is broken. I am beginning to regret this purchase.

iPhone6 - 64GB, ATT Service (or at least is used to be).

Apple quality is dropping - this is REALLY bad.

Pretty sure i'm in the minority here, but iPhone 4S on cricket (formerly aio) and no problems with service after taking the OTA 8.01 update.

My 6 Plus should be arriving in about 3 hours. Probably gonna wait till 8.02 to update...

argh! i read this M.R. news release too laate. my 5s is currently installing the update now and i can't cancel it.

5S AT&T here. I just updated and no issues.. it is sounding like it is affecting 6 and 6+ US-based carriers (as some international 6/6+ users seem to be fine).

Seems to be a problem with just the OTA update. I download the full 8.0.1 ipsw did an option click check for update pointing to that file and now I'm back up with service.

I'm doing this as we speak! I hope it fixes mine too.

I wonder who's going to get fired over this. LUCKILY if they pull the update soon, not many people will be affected, as the phones don't generally prompt for an update until a day or so after it's released. So random non-techies won't download it right away.

BUT they better pull it soon!
