News.com.au has posted that their 6+ is still broken with 8.0.2.

Come on apple, really? All of these issues is telling me the is the pivotal point apple carries on in its tech position, or it starts its slid down the rankings.

If that's true, it seems that maybe this is a australia issue. I saw another complaining about not connecting to "telstra", which is an australian carrier.

They were using 8.01 and tried to update to 8.02 instead of downgrading to 8.0 then updating to 8.02.

I never miss out, ever. I've had every iPhone and know Apple's strengths from years as a customer. I'm neither an impulse buyer or impatient. My happiness is not dependent on toys, I've got a few other new flagship smartphones as well. With great choices I'll wait for Apple to work out the bugs. It's fine with me if I just leave my iPhone 6 in the box till things improve.

Not really sure what will improve, really. I, and many others, are VERY happy. Some minor bug-fixes here and there are certainly needed, but it's a waste of time to not enjoy it! You ARE missing out.

I was able to download the software no problem. When I went to install it however, I received an error message. I gave it a couple hours and when I went to install again, it put my phone into recovery mode again.

I was also hit with 8.0.1 bugs, so I'm shocked to have two updates fail me in a row. I know this won't be the vast majority's experience, but it's still unfortunate.

Maybe he walked past Uri Geller

Uri Geller is always a good answer for inexplicable events.

It bricked my 6... I have to completely restore it through iTunes. Pretty disappointed in Apple but hoping its just a fluke that others don't have to deal with.

Sorry you have to deal with that, but your reasoned and thoughtful post is a nice change of pace from the angsty knee-jerk reactions that come from some people around here when something goes wrong with their device.

If you update the day an update comes out you have to expect something could go wrong. Its a risk that early adopters have to take. I'm just surprised it happened after apple pulled a buggy update. I would have expected it to be flawless. Seems to be for most people but a bummer nonetheless.

I think most people have had an experience where we look at a bruise and say, "Where did that come from and why am I just now seeing it?". If humans are capable of not feeling something that has pain sensors and is physically attached to us, it's not a stretch to imagine that we're not always aware of where our phone is and what is happening to it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that not everyone with bent phones is either a Samsung shill or a liar. I do believe that the 6 Plus is more than durable enough for everyday use, but so was the 4/4S and the 5/5s. Didn't stop some people from breaking their phones.

Well, your assumption is that the phone is so easily bendable that you may not notice it pressing against your body. You can make that assumption, but that doesn't make it true. Sure, maybe you lost sensation in your legs and you couldn't feel the 25 lb force on it. I would put that under "your problem", not apple problem.

Not working for me.

No service or touch ID.

Correct, Teltra is aussie. Im with Vodafone AU, but im not updating my 5s just yet!

Yeah, I don't trust Apple's QA, but if one or two anonymous MR posters says its good that's enough for me.

Just trying to be fair. anonymous can say anything and then disappear, Apple's QA will have to deliver a solution at the end of the day.

Oh, I am anonymous, 8.0.2 works, go get it.

1 counted.

Are you in Australia?

There are situations where it's feasible that someone wouldn't be thinking about their phone, even if it did press against their leg. Like you said though, Apple really can't take the blame for that. They did their due diligence in making a sturdy device, we have to do our due diligence in taking care of it.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine two updates going wrong back to back. Even if everyone else had no problem, it doesn't make it any less of a pain for you.
