That's clearly a lie.
No its not because everyone that picks up a 6 plus automatically tries to tweak it. Don't forget that this is on CNN, everyone knows about it.
That's clearly a lie.
Went from 8.0 to 8.0.2 on my 6+ and lost cell and Touch ID. Never tried 8.0.1.
Going back to 8.0.
40,000 is a lot.
Works fine on 5S, BUT there is a "1" notification on the settings app...

Out of the 10 million devices sold launch weekend, it's not even half a percent.
40,000 phones equals out to about 0.004% of the 6 or 6 Plus models sold over the weekend.
Just updated 3 iPhone 6s.... I think its safe
0.4% is HUGE. iOS 8.0.1 is a debacle.Out of the 10 million devices sold launch weekend, it's not even half a percent.
Yeah, I don't trust Apple's QA, but if one or two anonymous MR posters says its good that's enough for me.
Funniest thread I've read in awhile.....as for me, still showing "iOS 8.0 Your software is up to date" message on both iPhone 6 plus and iPhone 6 here.
Let's say 0.5% thenOut of the 10 million devices sold launch weekend, it's not even half a percent.
It looks like you are also in Australia. I think everyone(?) that's reported having issues is in australia?
Ok, just got the update available over OTA and downloaded and installed iOS 8.0.2
iPhone 6 plus restarted and have been "SEARCHING...." for past 10 mins
Resetted Network Settings, rebooted and same result....
I love you Apple, but this is rediculous...
No way the apple store employees leave bent phones out. They're not stupid. Plus you can try to tweak it all you want but unless you exert a lot of obvious force (which would attract security's attention) you ain't bending a 6+. I have one. It doesn't bend.
But that doesn't change that crippling 40,000 devices is a huge issue that affected a lot of people.Out of the 10 million devices sold launch weekend, it's not even half a percent.
0.4% is HUGE. iOS 8.0.1 is a debacle.
