The FIRST "updated to fix bendability" joke was ALMOST funny. But the 500 subsequent ones? Not so much.

Also, mine seems to be working just fine.

Weird. My retina iPad mini installed the update speedily and smoothly enough, but half an hour later, my iPhone 5s is still stick at the updating screen (the white screen with the black Apple logo and status bar). This is not looking good...

Personally I'm not going to put undue mental stress on my brain by trying to update my OS.

I'll let you brave souls take the plunge!

That's it. You're done. Android for you now. Sorry.

iPhone 4S 64gb o2. Never had this message before! Worried now.

iPhone itself shows a progress bar that isn't moving (has been that way for 10 minutes).

Update: it just vibrated twice but nothing on screen. Logo has vanished. Progress bar (at least I assume it was! It was in the same position as the updater bar but was completely grey/no percentage indicator) and logo vanished. Screen is lit but nothing displayed.
Update 2: This went from 8 to 8.0.2. Still nothing on the lit screen.

8.0.2 works fine on my ipad air (i know it's not a phone and it does not have touch id), but at least nothing seems broken so far.

Will wait a while before I update my 5s - not taking any chances with my work phone.

So I had all my Steps data deleted in Health app when I uograded to 8.0.1 yesterday and now AGAIN with 8.0.2. What the hell? Is this how Apple thinks this software should behave?? Anyone else getting this?

iOS 8.0.2 "Searching..." and Touch ID not working

Ok, we get it. We don't need update every 15 min. If it hasn't worked in 30 min, it's probably not going to work.

I'm still working at the office, not updating my other iPhone 6 so at least I have a working phone in the meantime. Will have to call Apple when I get home to report this issue.

Meantime iPhone 6 plus iOS 8.0 updated to iOS 8.0.2 is a fail

Update - did a hard reset (hold down power and home button). Phone rebooted, seemed the 8.0.2 update went through. Doesn't look like it has any issues yet. Yet being the key word here.

Will keep my fingers crossed. But this is definitely not some of Apple's best work here.

I am at work and I was updating it OTA, and my phone was acting funny as it was verifying update, but the screen kept going black and not turning on, then it came back and I thought it had updated, but I went in to settings and it said install 8.0.2 and i did, and then it was proper but again it didn't go through properly. I wasn't connected to a power source but my battery was at 80% and now it says connect to iTunes. I still have a few hours before I get off, is there anything I can do to bypass the restore from iTunes. I tried restarting the device it keeps coming back to this screen.

The thing that is crazy to me is that they somehow botched up the Telephony framework and Touch ID when they were just fixing minor bugs. They must've been working on stuff related to those that they didn't address in the release notes.

I'm waiting to see how things go for people, but I know for sure that I'm not doing OTA update this time, and a full backup right before I do.

No issues on my iPad third generation. Waiting a little longer before I update my phone though.

Can I ask how it performs? I updated my iPad 3 to iOS 8 and it's almost unusable compared to iOS 7. I wonder if I have a bad install.
