Installed 8.0.2 OTA on a iPhone 6 128GB

Touch ID didn't work. Eventually deleted my fingerprints in the Touch ID settings panel and re added my fingerprints.

Touch ID's working again. Hope this works for you lot having problems with Touch ID post 8.0.2

8.0.2 OTA from 8.0 unlocked 128 GB iPhone 6 on 3 UK - all seems good. Phone and Touch ID certainly seem to be working normally.

8.0.2 is Go!

I'm in Australia and I've installed 8.0.2 on my iPhone 6 OTA with no issues whatsoever. I never installed the troublesome 8.0.1 as it came and went while I was sleeping (thank you time zones!) Also installed it on an iPad 3 via iTunes, with no issues either.

8.0.2 OTA working here with service and Touch ID. UK 64GB iPhone 6 on O2.

(Didn't go via 8.0.1)

im in Virginia Beach, VA USA and I updated to 8.0.2 and my touch ID and Cellular is NOT working and I updated OTA. I've tried to do hard reset AND Reset Network Settings and still no luck. As of right now my 6+ is a 5in Wi-Fi Tablet. UGH

So, after all this has settled - is there any point in downloading 8.0.2?

I can't see actual any benefit over 8.0.0...

(I haven't updated yet)

Thanks,, i may update, but i'll tether up to iTunes. I hate doing OTA updates for large updates like iOS 7x to 8x, although convenient. since you never know if the space taken up will be gone.

That is completely untrue. ANYONE who installed the OTA killed the cellular radios on every 6/6+. The OTA killed the radio firmware. It wasn't hit or miss. It was anyone who installed it. Btw, this "new" update is the exact same size because all they did was patch the OTA process it seems.

Do you personally know everyone that installed the update? Because your statement is just ridiculous. Apple said than less than 40.000 units were affected.

----------

It's crazy how only 40,000 phones could have been affected. Based on all the furor over bending phones, you would think that 40,000 phones have already bent and that 500,000 phones have been affected by the 8.01 update.

Don't you know? Everything regarding Apple is exaggerated by media .... especially when they start selling millions of units in a few days

As one of the exclusive club of 40,000, I'm happy to report my OTA 8.0.2 update on my 6 was flawless. I still have my carrier, and Touch ID is still functioning. Now if I could just squeeze my iPhone into my front pocket... NOT:)

Yes, at least from what I experience (6 Plus 128 GB):
– Safari feels much smoother and snappier since 8.02
– Safari didn't crash on me since the update
– some other bugs seem to be gone (no more parts of the status bar showing up in foto app view finder in landscape orientation)

Now if I also regain a stable bluetooth connection with my Audi communication system then 8.02 is a major win for me. Will see in an hour.

No updates for me for a month or so. I was one of yesterday's iPhone 6 casualties. . What an ordeal. I want those 4 hours back Apple. Hmmm, I just realized how very often I've said those words over the last decade. I must be a masichist for buying this 6. Swore time and again I was done with Apple then ran right out and bought it. What's up with that? Just too lazy to learn another device I guess.
My WiFi has been speedy and steady here at home but won't find WiFi networks at all when out and about. Battery life is definitely much worse than my old 4S, however, with Safari being the big hog at 51%. Probably from reading all these posts because I've certainly turned off every feature. I'm quite unimpressed with this A8 chip. It's noticeably quite sluggish comparatively on many levels.

It's interesting you made an account to complain about this. Here is some advice for you, and all other people complaining. Buy on the next year update cycle, ie the 4s, 5s, 6s etc and not on the first run update. That should aliviate most of your problems. Another option is to switch to Android or Windows phones, they don't ever have any problems.

Posting problems on the Internet maybe is helpful in some ways, but posting that you keep making bad decisions? That just lets us all know what kind of person we're dealing with...

I've updated my iPhone 6 64Gb unlocked UK with EE sim and no issues with signal or Touch ID. All running perfectly :apple:

Updated Unlocked 5S just now. All seems OK. Didn't update to 8.0.1 They pulled it before I updated.

Same here - was about to update my 4s to 8.0.1, by the time I booted my Mac and hit check for update it had been pulled. Updated now to 8.0.2 and all appears well - feels a little quicker too. (8 was laggier than 7 I had on before)

I'm in the UK, all is running absolutely fine. Nice straight phone, perfect signal. No issues whatsoever.

For anyone who might have downloaded 8.0.1 but not installed, and it looks like the only option you have is to install that version before seeing 0.2. Or you get an error saying 'You are not connected to the Internet' when trying to install 0.1 in order to see 0.2. (!)

Restart your iPhone - then go back into Software update and you will see 0.2 waiting to be downloaded and installed!

I'm 5'11 and only 155lbs & my iPhone 6 plus bent in my jeans front pocket (not skinny jeans) just walking around the mall...

Also, I go to the gym..

Since I'm tried myself I won't believe something like that. You most probably sat on it and don't remember that.

----------

It doesn't take much to bend the 6 plus. I was at the apple store today and all of the display models are already bent from people playing with them. The 6 plus bending is a very big issue.

Are you saying that the iPhone bends just by USING IT ??? that's utterly ridiculous

----------

Thats what I was thinking too.....thats a lot of people that lost cell service from the update.

40k over more than 10 millions sold ? A negligible number according to statistics.
It's annoying it you are among those 40k, but nothing more.

----------

Ok I admit it..... I did send a few texts and answered a phone call or 2 while I was at the mall... You caught me......... Then it was placed back "safely" in my pockets

So the act of texting bends you iPhone. Now you are more credible ...

UPDATE

Still having problems with webpages in landscape orientation:
– links still don't respond to tapping
– search or log-in fields are not accessible
Both happens only with elements close to the bottom of the screen. Have to turn the phone into portrait orientation to successfully tap the link or field.
