Yes released late Thursday. Yes it fixes the cellular and touch ID issues of 8.0.1 plus a handful of other items.

But that would be a lie. 0.005% of ten million users would be 500.

My bad .5% assuming it was all on iPhon6/+ which is not true as it was an iOS problem. So the %age would be way less when you consider it with total users. Either ways I think you get the point. Hopefully its resolved with 8.0.2 for everyone having troubles. :)

Seriously? The 4 dropped calls if you touched it wrong, the 3G had a recessed earphone jack that sent angry millions out to buy new headphones or special jacks. The laptops burned up. It goes on and on. And just try to delete old texts taking up space they prevent updates. Have you seen that workaround? You must be from another planet if you're oblivious to all the backflips necessary to work these iPhones.
Victimized is how I felt after parting with $400 Sunday and spending all day Wednesday trying to get phone service. But I'm the fool here for sticking by this workaround, backflip company for all these years. Are you in this forum because you're looking for a fix or workaround or just to piss on those who are? This battery issue has gone on since day one and we're still hoping against hope over a decade later. But will Apple simply put a battery door on the phone? Amateurs! The best iPhone review I read was on CNet, "iPhone has a lot of really neat features, but none of them work very well."

While I agree that apple has been manipulative, cheap, scumbags for years victimization is a little much. You dont have to buy their products.

I stopped buying Apple when the iPad 3 was half released only to have the real iPad 3 come out in October, the lightning adapter change with no benefit to consumers was another thing that changed my opinion of Apple.

I agree that Apple is a terribly unethical, poor excuse for a company but like I said victimization is a little strong, its not like you dont have a choice to buy their products or not.

Have you ever had an android phone? I have and let me tell you, that many hands in the pot leads to more flaws, not less. And the time to resolution is forever because everyone points a finger at someone else!

I currently use both platforms. Name the last time an Android OTA knocked out critical functionality for Android.

The last one I remember was ATT pulling an update for the GS4 (if I remember correctly) and I believe that was for a battery drain issue. Certainly nothing as serious as 8.0.1

Also, with app updates, you can revert to the older version on android very easily.

Why are you even here wasting your time in an Apple forum??? I find it really interesting that a lot of people who hang out on MacRumors forums don't buy, don't have, and hate Apple products. Why would anyone come here to complain about a product you don't even own? Just strange to me.

What about AT&T Hotspot not working

Have they corrected the Hotspot feature? This was not working on AT&T with IOS 8.0. I don't know if it was a wifi isssue or something to do with hotspot. Anybody have same trouble?

I agree. I see that all the time and think WTF are these people doing. I don't get it either.

Updated my 5 and 6 directly to 8.0.2 through iTunes. No issues noted so far.

I think se1000 stands for Samsung Employee 1000. They seem to be flooding our forum to bash :apple: and sing the praises of Crappy Android products.

8.0.2 Upgraded No Problem

I just 8.0.2 Upgraded No Problem on an iPhone 6. I did it over fairly fast WiFi though.

Why doesn't Apple test the update prior to release ?

 Stupid me we are the guinea pigs .. I'm not updating anything at this point thank you very much.. !!

For God's sake I can't install mine #### what to do?? ###

And you believe Apple why? Based on all their truth? Of the 5 people who bought 6's that I know, 3 got fried by the update Wednesday. Statistically, that indicates a lot more than .5%. It's 60%. I can't say I blame them for trying to minimize the seriousness of yet another release fiasco, however.

I wish I was the 1000th Samsung employee!

Again, I use both on a daily basis. They both have their problems and they both have redeeming qualities.

Let's be honest though, the 8.0.1 release was handled poorly by Apple and the software should not have made it to an OTA release. Yes it was absolutely Apple's fault, they released it, they also pulled it.

Like i said yesterday, please cancel your iPhone 6 plus order!

Do you weight more than 240 pounds and sat on your phone? Oh yeah... That's why it bent...

Like i said yesterday if someone is worried about the iPhone 6 plus please cancel your preorder so i can move up from the end of October to the beginning of October and you can sit it out and hope you get one before Christmas. And then you will be pissed at Apple you had to wait three months to get one.

Please cancel your order now. I bet mine will not bend like they are saying and i will have one sooner than later and will smile from ear to ear!

Assuming that the update even made the phone function again. An acceptable failure rate (aka bricking) is usually less than 10%, but it can be higher. It is almost always more than 1-2%.

Plenty of android OTA updates have gone out that had to be pulled later for more than a 50% failure rate. That is a lot of angry customers flooding their carrier's stores.

That is one thing that Apple got right, even if they screw it up slightly.

Cite an example, and make sure it's across carriers, across manufacturers. Name one OTA that affected Android as a whole.
