The original Mac Rumors news article says "bug fixes" which is what I was repeating.

If the article isn't detailed enough for you take it up with MR. I didn't write the post.

Not to mention there are always more underlying fixes than are listed in the notes. And the reality is if there was 1 single fix then great! Better then no fixes at all.

Not for nothing, but anyone who steals a ringtone they would otherwise honestly have to pay for needs to take a long, hard look at themselves.

its just as easy to make your own ringtones. Not everyone is a thief

For a company that says "music is in our DNA," You would think having the ability to sync your music flawlessly would be a major priority!

I feel like the first 3-4 months of iOS7 and iOS8 have made the Music app useless! Partial content syncs, album art is all messed up, duplicate songs, and a V section showing up between A and B under artists(now before A in the latest update!)

Apple today released iOS 8.1.2 to the public, introducing bug fixes and addressing an issue that caused ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store to be removed from an iOS device. Apple advises users who have lost ringtones to restore them by visiting itunes.com/restore-tones from their iOS devices.

iOS 8.1.2, carrying a build number of 12B440, was not seeded to developers before being released to the public. The software is available immediately as an over-the-air-download.

Like iOS 8.1.1, released on November 17, iOS 8.1.2 is a minor update that focuses solely on bug fixes. It does not bundle in any of the major new features that are rumored for iOS 8, like improvements to Maps and split-screen multitasking for the iPad. Apple is also working on iOS 8.2 with the WatchKit SDK, which was seeded to developers in mid-November.

Wow!iPad Mini 1st Gen Youtube page, Apple Home Page, Macrumors, no tab refresh. Currently 4 tbs open on Macrumors, no tab refresh 8.1.2. 8.1.1 tab refresh on Macrumors with 2 tabs. For me 8.1.2 seems similar to 7.1/2.
Nice job Apple!

Just to clarify a few points here:

Both on my iPhone 4s and my iPad 4th generation, the download was 16,5 MB.
The update (both updating from 8.1.1) installed flawlessly on both via OTA (even though my iPhone only had 700 MB free space left - so no idea where the 1,2 GB free space required comes from. Maybe on other phones/pads).

And my iPhone now has 1,1 GB free space - so the update actually freed up 400 MBs! :)
That's the spirit, :apple:!

So does this fix my 6+ wifi issue? im on 8.1 too scared to update to break anything further, or lose my jailbreak.

How about a fix for the disappearing notifications (at least from whatsapp) that come 2 or 3 seconds after you lock the phone...

I get notifications via my banner and when I go to the msg app it doesn't show up right away if the view was already on that persons thread. I have to back out of that view go to general message view and click the senders thread that I was just on!!! I really hope they fix this issue.

It takes 30 seconds to make a ringtone from an existing, already purchased song in iTunes and sync it with the iPhone. Why would that be stealing?

Similar things were being said by various people about iOS 7, which is now being seen as some sort of amazing and stable iOS version. Various others have had different issues in previous iOS versions as well, so for them those versions can be seen as being worse. So what seems to be "obvious" isn't actually so.

Many people didn't like iOS7 because of it's aesthetics, not because it was initially full of bugs like iOS8. There are allot people on here complaining about how bad iOS8 is or was.. do we not see the elephant in the room? BTW.. do you work for Apple?

You know what's sad? I used to love software updates. I was one of those people who upgraded everything the second it was released for years. Today, however, with Apple's lately buggy offerings and bad updates (like the recent Safari updated and iOS 8.0.1) I now wait a while. How things have changed...it just doesn't work.

Really? For one downloading hiccup in 7 years? Tough customer.

Come on Bucky! Heads up & smile. Sure, you can do it! :)

You must not have been following all the discussions that were going on around iOS 7. Sure, quite a few discussions about aesthetics, but plenty about performance, stability, and bugs. Plenty of people are also not having any issues that are really impacting them with iOS 8. The only elephant in the room is that it's not as "black and white" (to use a phrase) or as surprising/new as various people try to make it out to be.

Too bad they have to increment the entire OS one version number for a single, small fix.

If this were a bug fix in either Firefox or Chrome, it would have been 2 or 3 whole number increments!

I agree with you that they should not have wasted the bug fix increment on bug fixes.

Maybe someday when we have a number system that isn't so...finite... technology needs to catch up to present day needs. ;)

I guess some people see only what they want to see (to use a phrase). So do you work for Apple?

How would you know as you have neither?

Currently, that is accurate, in the past though not accurate at all. My tech in 2014 is vastly different than it was 2, 5 and 10 years ago in this space.

Yes, some people certainly see what they want to see, like those who have issues and assume they are widespread and affect everyone (and in the same way), when quite often that's not even close to being the case.

I have no affiliation with Appl, since you keep on repeatedly asking that irrelevant question. That said, the fact that you keep on bringing that up over and over certainly paints a picture of an agenda.

lol no agenda here.. I only asked it twice because you didn't respond the first time. I do enjoy the discussion and pressing your buttons; ) Nothing personal lol

Not all ringtones come from music.

Besides, at that point, you already purchased the song, so you're clear there. However, there are people who don't purchase their music or ringtones. And yet those that do need to take a look at themselves??
