It is specific to certain US banks that have implemented the EMV tokenization standard.

Thanks, that worked. I disabled the e-mail addresses again afterward and it still works, so I guess you just need them enabled for initial setup (for some reason).

Haha, no I did originally plan to just go 64GB but since I was able to get $400 out of my 5S and the 128GB was only $199 upfront I just went for it.

With my 32GB 5S I found myself having to constantly delete videos and pics I had taken so I figured with the 128GB I could take as many as I wanted without having to ever delete them. So I'm sure it will get more full over time. The videos can take up quite a bit of space. I loaded my music playlists from iTunes onto it already (~1500 songs) so I figure that I'll just continue to use iTunes Match to stream the other 15000 songs from my library if I want to listen to those.

Nice. I'm about to head to Walgreens shortly. So you just open Passbook and hold the phone in front of the terminal?

I agree. Press on Touch ID then Toss your iPhone 6 directly at the soda machine from 4+ feet away and it will work perfectly.
 
I am with iOS 8.1 beta 2 now. Shall i do full restore/clean install with the final 8.1 or I can just update it over iTunes?

Just out of curiosity, not that I'll get an answer here, but what happens if I update the iPad2, iPad3 & iPhone5 to iOS8, but not the iPhone4? Will my wife be able to access the Photostream phtos or whatever it's called now? Or, should I just leave everything at iOS7? :confused:


Also, ApplePay would be great for Redbox.

Still waiting for them to sign the deals for iTunes Radio here ... 2 years and counting. Other companies have rolled out similar streaming systems already

I hope apple get of their arses and roll out to Europe, especially given they have Visa and MasterCard already on-board
 
With Apple Customer Service on Phone right now - Apple Pay Doesn't Even SHOW UP

I installed OS8.1 and no added options in my SETTINGS show up. I open PASSBOOK and it does not allow me to add anything - just scan...

No APPLE PAY option was added...

BTW, I have an iphone 6+

Was more rhetorical but appreciated. Just frustrating god for bid you slip up on a macrumor forum; get a life (not you) anyone who went out of their way to bitch at me over a technicality bc i said stores had to "sign on" to apple and they can "opt-out" IMMEDIATELY after i corrected myself and explained what i mean that stores are making it seem like they can opt-out of Apple Pay; EVEN IF WHAT THEY ARE OPTING OUT OF ARE ALL NFC TRANSACTIONS ANYWAY. That was my only point the apple consumer does not care about NFC transactions all they want to know is where will MY APPLE PAY WORK not my NFC TRANSACTING device. So yeah i did break my promise @ptb2 or w/e your name is because your ignorance would not allow for my silence.

being that i don't have an apple pay capable device i can't help that, however i can only say they 100% did add apple pay support.

What are you talking about? Best Buy and Walmart have publicly stated they do not support NFC. The reason is they are pushing their own mobile payment apps. Best Buy has had NFC terminals but had them disabled for quite a while. It has nothing to do with Apple Pay.

How did you sell your 5S? I did the lazy route and went Gazelle this time, still got $330 for it.
