Apple Releases iOS 8.1 With Apple Pay Support, SMS Relay, Camera Roll, and More

Got SMS relay to work by enabling my e-mail address for iMessage on both my phone and my Mac. Disabled my e-mail address after enabling SMS relay and it still works.

This fixed both cellular call transfer AND SMS transfer for me. Thanks!!!

I updated it over iTunes from beta2 and now the version on the phone is 12B411 (not B410). I cannot see neither applepay options nor camera roll.

Oh I don't think so, Apple. I think I'll sit this one out for a few hours. The last time I downloaded an update so quickly, my phone stopped functioning as a phone. I will let others try this first, and then maybe I'll feel it is safe to proceed.

I'm in the UK but have a US bank account as i travel there often, anyone know our options for adding a card as the above there is no option to add one for UK users.

I can see the UK rollout being a long time coming if iTunes Radio is anything to go by.

I suppose it's somehow tied to which country's iTunes store your AppleID is linked. If you have a US based AppleID, you should have access to ApplePay.

Done! 8.1 on my 5s! Strange... Apple Pay didn't work for me at MacDonalds. I had to borrow money from the guy standing behind me to pay for that cup of Coke.

Since I either get "8.0.2 is the current version" popup, or the "Unable to contact the server" error in iTunes, I went ahead and downloaded the firmware from here:

I suppose you can find iPod Touch software listed there as well.

Once downloaded, click "Check for Updates" button while holding down the Shift key (or Alt for Windows users), and navigate to the downloaded firmware file.

It's funny, just after downloading from iclarified, iTunes finally showed it as available, so I did it from iTunes just cause - the download was significantly faster from iclairified…

It sure as hell didnt fix safari for ipad 3. It is worst and useless now. Nothin loads.

My 5s is super slow on safari now as well. Not as bad as the ipad, but very slow.

its hilarious they launched it in USA and not Canada , considering its almost impossible to find a store in canada that does not have NFC payments.

Actually this makes sense... USA will have a smaller volume so they can test before they rolling it out will lots of transactions

SIMs have nothing to do with ApplePay

I actually just got this text too... I also used my old iPhone 5s SIM in my new T-Mobile iPhone 6 plus. I have a feeling this was triggered by the 8.1 update. Does anyone have any insight into this? Everything is working fine, so I'd rather not even be bothered going to the att store unless there is a real need for a new SIM

I noticed in the Music app just now on my 5s, there isn't an album cover tile view in landscape mode. The now playing screen just remains in place, no matter which way I orient the phone. And no, orientation lock is NOT turned on.

edit: Nevermind, I wasn't on the Artists tab in the main app page.
