$1.60 for a soda???
Is that surprising? There are vending machines around here that charge $2 for a bottle of soda.
$1.60 for a soda???
I agree. Press on Touch ID then Toss your iPhone 6 directly at the soda machine from 4+ feet away and it will work perfectly.
PS: Not looking to get into a debate about how "old" the iPhone 4s is, or how I shouldn't have upgraded because it should be expected that "it will run like crap". Apple made the update available for the iPhone 4s, which was on sale up to last year (iirc), so it should be optimised to run on it, imho.
How would it work in the drive thru? Would you need to hand them your phone?
This isn't chess though. Although I'll be waiting as well.
sorry answering so fast to respond to shmucks that band together like jizz strains sometimes you type the wrong word. They can opt out-----whether thats of all nfc transactions or not is irrelevant.
Depends on who your bank is and if they are supporting Apple Pay yet.

How did you sell your 5S? I did the lazy route and went Gazelle this time, still got $330 for it.
Since I either get "8.0.2 is the current version" popup, or the "Unable to contact the server" error in iTunes, I went ahead and downloaded the firmware from here:

And for iPad:

I suppose you can find iPod Touch software listed there as well.
Once downloaded, click "Check for Updates" button while holding down the Shift key (or Alt for Windows users), and navigate to the downloaded firmware file.
I'm assuming it doesn't show up OTA?
nope mine is just a small credit union.
Updated to 8.1 on my iPhone 5.
Set up SMS relay on the Mac and put in the code, but none of my texts show up. What gives?
Really, Apple?
Yes.

What are you talking about? Best Buy and Walmart have publicly stated they do not support NFC. The reason is they are pushing their own mobile payment apps. Best Buy has had NFC terminals but had them disabled for quite a while. It has nothing to do with Apple Pay.
They will either have terminals at the window or portable terminals (connected to a cord) that they will hand you. I believe most McDonald's already have these but whether the employees know how to use them is another question.
Anyone having trouble adding their Chase Amazon Rewards VISA?
I think it will take another 6 months or more to get many of the credit unions on board. It requires some backend changes so it is not an easy process for smaller banks.
