The Good, the Bad and the Ugly...

Follow-on to the Title: :D~~~

Well, I've been using Apple and Mac's since day one in 1983 so I suppose that means I'm a fanboy. Still, I'll call it as I see it.

Just got it sorted out on my iPhone 5s and iPad Air. Almost on cue I received calls and SMS's that handed off between the iPad and iPhone as well as my MacPro (2009) version running Yosemite.

Currently, its Yosemite and not iOS 8.1 that has horrible problems. It's remarkably unstable and I have it installed on two separate hard drives with similar results.

Heck, on one of my Maverick drives, the update will not install because it thinks that my original MacPro 640 HD is a Time Machine! Ironically, it's by a large margin, the most stable drive of the five hard drives I have. I'm retaining Mavericks on other spare HD simply because I don't trust Yosemite at all.

Keep the eye candy and give me stability! Man, things have really changed since we lost the Master. :apple:

Camera Roll is back, just activated Apple Pay and used card already associated with Apple ID, sent verification, done....that was very slick.

Impressive, most impressive...(blocking out corporate missteps of the last ~2 months).

Now I need to go buy something!

iPad 3 is still slow on safari but slightly better. I had to restart (took a long time to power back on) and for some reason, things improved slightly over the initially install and restart during 8.2.

side note 5S has a different build number.

Huh. I've been running it on my Mac Mini and Macbook Air all weekend and no significant issues. A few rough edges, but nothing I'd call "unstable". Installation (standard upgrades from Mavericks on both machines) went smoothly on both Macs as well.

Yosemite has been in devellopment for a long time and has had a public beta too, if the problem was that widepread (all your hardware basically), I think I'd heard a bit more about that don't you think...

I've got it to work from iPhone to Mac but I'm still seeing nothing on my iPhone.

Go to Settings in iPhone, Handoff & Suggested Apps and turn off My Apps and App Store and turn them on again.

Tried it all. I can get the PAIR "code" to show on both devices, but then they both disconnect. Brutal.

Just used Apple Pay (with AMEX) @ CVS and Whole Foods. Pretty slick...except at both locations I moved the phone before the transaction was complete. Did it again with no issue and both terminals "beeped" and "Approved" showed on the display.

With AMEX, you touch the "i" symbol on the lower right and it opens the AMEX IOS app and shows the most recent transactions. The mistakes appeared with -- in the amount column.

Great job Apple!!

I think the key is to probably not put your finger on the TouchID sensor until you actually want to pay. So you can move it and establish the connection with the terminal early, but it won't actually try to pay until your finger is on the TouchID sensor.

I did not put finger on too soon.....moved the phone away from terminal too soon.

Also, noticed that the phone has to be closer to the WFM terminal than the CVS one. Different designs/antennae configuration.....
