Apple Releases iOS 8.3 With Emoji Updates, Wireless CarPlay, Space Bar UI Fix

10 Hours to download iOS 8.3.... u wot m8
About one minute on my 6+, about 90 seconds on my iPad air 2. Both OTA were under 290 Meg. Awhile ago I signed up for a free VPN when I was having really bad download issues with Apple's servers, Apple TV was unwatchable for about three weeks. VPN fixed it until whatever the CDM issue was fixed for my location.

8.3 has cured 8.2s failing to download apps and content for me

8.3 has cured 8.2s failing to download apps and content for me

under 8.2 my iPhone 5 could not download apps, app updates, music , podcasts (although they would stream, or iTunes uni content

a brief check shows podcast and apps are working again - i'm assumoing other content also

fingers crossed 8.3 won't wipe all audio off my phone like 8.1.3 and 8.2 have randomly been doing

its 1.83 gigs thru iTunes...which to me means its a CLEAN install, not a patched over install

LLAP / Spock symbol worked for me!!!

I see no mention of a fix for the super annoying problem when iPhone 6 camera recording stops spontaneously 6-10 seconds into a recording.

That one has been plaguing me now for over four months and actually has happened on my wife's phone now a couple of times too.

Would any of the 50+ people who upvoted this care to explain why they did so?

It seems like the most random thing to upvote. It's not funny (IMO), it's not useful... so what on earth warranted that it be upvoted by such a huge margin above any other post?

I just gave an upvote to that post specifically because of this post. You've just indirectly contributed to the upvoting of said post!

They can manage the memory more efficiently across all apps, so that there is more available for Safari tabs. Or, save a temporary copy of the page on local storage so that it doesn't get wiped out if it was in memory.

Well, of course, all I wanted to do was poke a little fun. :p

As someone else mentioned, this update has literally breathed new life into my iPad 3. It's back to being a viable internet browsing tool

Did anyone else lose all their notes in the Apple Note app after updating to 8.3?

Have you checked whether you are still logged in to iCloud and Notes is enabled there?

I don't synch to iCloud, but I did try to restore to a February back-up and the notes (up till then) are still there. However, I re-restored it to today's back-up and they're gone again.

Fortunately, I don't keep anything too critical on there and I can transcribe them by going back to that earlier restore again, but I do wish there was a way to separately view them and save them from iTunes.

(Thanks to all those who have replied and offered suggestions!)

T-Mobile users will also get a Carrier Update to 19.1. Make sure you go to General > About and wait a few seconds to be prompted to update them.

There is one for Verizon as well. 19.1. Crazy thing is when I went to check on my iPad mini Retina WiFi / Cellular model. It updated but on my Verizon iPhone 6 I can't get it to update to 19.1. Weird.

If you have touchid enabled for iTunes&App Store you won't see the new Password Settings option rather in small grey text "Touch ID is enabled for all purchases". If you disable touchid you will see the Password Setting option.

Ugh, that's so stupid. I still have to enter my password for free apps after rebooting.

I installed the 8.3 public beta, when checking for updates 8.3 shows up. When I try to download it says software update failed, an error occurred downloading iOS 8.3.

I have the same setup, and I have no problem. So, it's not that there's a problem with putting the final master on top of the public beta. Don't know what the problem might be. Internet connection? Attached to power?
