Memory management seems to be a great deal better. I used two different browsers, played Pako for a while, changed my lock screen passcode, came back to the first browser and the web page didn't even reload :D

Copy & Paste image URLs in Safari is back again, after a long holiday.

black tint gone !

SO GLAD they removed that black tint over wallpapers/lockscreens that would appear while setting a new picture as wallpapers. Finally (i know its a small change but it was bothering me alot)

Anyone else missing the option to bold/underline/italic in landscape mode on the iPhone 6 plus? I've got all the new emojis but I don't see the new button on the keyboard...

has anyone noticed that when you send black people emoji's to someone who doesn't have iOS 8.3, they receive a white person emoji with an alien next to it?

almost as if you can't recognise race unless you update your phone's OS...

almost as if black people are white people aliens...

Thats hilarious #

Unfortunately, in my case status bar problem is still there.

Moreover, after update I had a mess in the photo gallery and had to sync via iTunes.

Knock on wood

It seems to be an improvement for me with my iPhone 6 plus. On many occasions my 6 plus would freeze when I tired to swipe to another home screen page. This happened so much I thought I was going to have to sell my iPhone and get something else. So far it seems like it's speedier, almost as if I have a new phone.

I installed the 8.3 public beta, when checking for updates 8.3 shows up. When I try to download it says software update failed, an error occurred downloading iOS 8.3.

Simplest thing to do is download the ipsw directly, then force iTunes to let you select it by holding down the Option key while you click on "Check for updates...".

It's what I had to do to get this one installed. My phone told me there was an update available, but iTunes said (incorrectly) I was up to date. And yes, I was on the beta.

long list of bugs? that doesn't sound good.

Seems 8.3 is in emoji heaven.

As for the old and new look of the keyboard (well, i can't tell the different, so why should u :) )

unless they mean the (period) key is now slighly narrower in size..... but i would hardly call that a "fix"

When typing iMessages my parents keep accidentally only sending half a message... and not in English cos she has fat fingers... so u really need Google translate.....

Anyone that has a Pioneer head unit capable of CarPlay...please let me know if this works.

This may be late to the game, but yes it works. I have a Pioneer SPH-DA120 (app radio 4) and it works just fine. Not wirelessly (my head unit doesn't have wifi) but via lightning cable.

I plugged in this morning and it asked me to unlock as normal, then it pops up a notification asking if you want to allow the head unit to use your phone while locked with an allow/deny prompt.

Carplay then worked just as it has done in iOS 8.2, although it did actually start auto playing my music (from the root library, starting at A) even while the legal disclaimer screen was displayed, which seems to be new behaviour - it didn't start automatically on iOS 8.2 and I otherwise didn't change any settings.

----------

Anybody know why I can't see carplay settings in the general section? I have seen images of it there so i am guessing it should still be there...

Or did they change it so you only have to pair from the car now and do nothing on the phone to set up?

What settings did you want to change? The pair function (to make it so you don't have to unlock) is a notification popup that happens when you connect the phone to the head unit.

Once you've done that, you then get a CarPlay menu in the settings (it's below Handoff on mine) that allows you to forget the car you've linked it to if you like or just to toggle the lock screen preference on and off.

The menu is hidden by default unless you use CarPlay first.

I don't see wireless CarPlay announced in the feature list for 8.3. Also, I have confirmed wireless CarPlay is not working on my Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. I would expect that Pioneer may need to put out a firmware update after wireless CarPlay is released. Has anyone seen a statement from Apple saying it is included in 8.3???

It still doesn't change the display for upper and lower case characters while you're typing and keeps defaulting back to the text layout every time I add a space which is really annoying when you're trying to add an address to your contacts.

One reason I have set SwiftKey as my default keyboard ... that and the fact it has a better landscape layout on the 6+ than the default keyboard.

Dumb Ignorants

Hahaa, the Swiss Newspapers are going crazy about the update.

The swiss flag is shown as normal flag in the emoji-picker (rectangular) but in real the flag is square. If you click on "send", the emoji will be square.

But they are writing: "Apple too dumb for swiss flag", "iOS update big fail" etc.

The best news headline today:

New iOS Emojis: Almost no one sees them properly
Flop at Apple's multicultural Emojis

The iPhone update brings new Emoji skin tones - unfortunately it does not work on Android.

This make me raaaaaaage, the comments from the people are crazy too. About that samsung has so much more emoji, and emoji are not from apple and other dumb ****.

Are only the swiss newspapers such ****, or world-wide?

Aaaaaand yet another useless App I can't delete... Stupid Apple Watch app

I think they should make these stock apps the same as they do with the Nike + iPod app. Give them a slider bar setting to hide it. This would solve so many issues and complaints...

they would blow minds with that...
