Easy with the assumptive snide personal comments Mr. Smartguy. I've tried the basics, and it is one of the first batch (I assume so, purchased Sept last year, to answer your question....so it could have some initial batch troubles). It needs a genius bar appointment to rule out some other possible issues. Point being...the issues have been there since day one. And multiple people have reported orientation problems over the course of IOS8. I'm by no means the only one. I normally don't complain either...3 IPhones and pretty much zero trouble until this last one. But 11 months in, they either need to fix it software wise, or if it's an internally known problem caused by something else they need to speak up.

Well I've seen your other posts, so not that assumptive. I have first batch devices from last year and don't see the troubles you have had. It's probably your device, if it was me, I'd have not waited 11 months before taking it to an Apple Store, once I'd tried all the basics.

Also, have you actually reported the issue to Apple? Or hoping they will magically fix it without knowing the problem exists?

Yeah, no thanks. Going to let Apple Music mature like Apple Maps (which still isn't on par with Google Maps) before leaving Spotify's slick app.

Google maps is worse than Apple maps for me, it still shows the housing estate where I live as being fields, from 15 years ago, along with 2 roads not even showing up on Google Maps, making it hard to get to, despite numerous reports to google over the last 10 years alone. Whereas Apple Maps shows it from a year ago.

It's so ignorant, that on their flagship tablet product they have this slow wake glitch.

I must have sent a half dozen bug reports on this issue. Instead of worrying about patching a jailbreak, they should fix crap like this bug and others.

Weird, it's instant wake on mine.

I installed this on my ipod but the tracks that have been over written by AM are evidently not going to be magically restored.

I am considering doing a reset on my ipod, syncing my tracks and then trying again to see if it will still overwrite local tracks. Hopefully working now.

Sounds like maybe you want to turn iCloud music library off?

If it breaks on my Ipod 4th gen, how long can I roll back to 8.3? Or is this not possible, one wonders.

8.3 is no longer being signed. So if you are really worried about it, jump to 8.4.1 ASAP and try it. If it doesn't work, you know you can drop back to 8.4 and use it as well as maintain the ability to jailbreak.

BL.

It has not fixed the Album art issue for me. *Sigh*

I don't know that it will because it still tries to match the album art rather than use your own to avoid the uploading time (at least that's what Apple told me). I just re-apply the album art in iTunes once it's matched and it updates pretty much instantly.

I want to have iCloud on but not have it overwrite my synced ALAC tracks with AM tracks, particularly adding the wrong tracks which is what it is doing now. If I have gone to the bother of ripping and syncing a track it should understand the significance of this, and I feel it should never overwrite a local track at all on an iOS device.

In any event I did update iTunes to 12.2.2, then I updated my iPod to 8.4.1 and did a complete reset. I synced my music back and then turned on iCloud music on and so far everything is holding. This has been my biggest issue other than sound quality so I am pretty pleased if this is a fix.

FYI this actually fixed my Apple Music situation. I was unable to see any of my music on my iOS device the last few weeks. My playlists were empty, my library had nothing in it -- it was like it didn't exist. Now it's all there, and Apple Music is finally working. Just in case anyone else had that same issue

Just tried 'wake from sleep' on my Air 2 from the home button, also from the magnetic close/open cover on my case and it is instantaneous. I think it can hardly be a bug if it doesn't affect all users.

I'm glad it's working for you. I'll have to test it more thoroughly.
