Awesome. And this version comes with the new 'hover board' feature I'm led to believe? Your iOS device can now hover a few inches above a surface so it doesn't get scratched. (BTTF-Day!!)

that would be SO USEFUL though :O

Is it still awful and laggy? My iPhone 6 Plus is almost unusable sometimes. Doing things like opening the message app hangs and makes me wait

my iPhone 6 Plus was perfect on iOS 8, the lagging on iOS 9 pissed me off hope it's fixed now...

All iOS updates seem to feel a lot faster immediately after updating. Seems to slow down afterwards for me.

In any case, I'm glad they fixed my #1 annoyance and regression - Phone app once again remembers which groups of Contacts were checked and doesn't default to showing all my groups!! Thanks Apple!

The only thing they fixed was Jailbreak...LOL. Is that what you call "performance improvement?" 9.1 is a joke, Apple.
What is up with 150 emoji...is that update-click bait?
So that's just ignoring everything else that was changed...just because?

Yep I first spotted with 9.0. Oh well at least they appear to be knocking out other bugs. This one just makes me laugh because I think how many times a tester would be going in to settings and it seems to go un-noticed.
There's a difference between something not being noticed and something that is known but simply not addressed (for whatever reason, with low priority and severity being one of the top ones most likely).

While the rest of the world embraces more emotive graphical communication through the likes of LINE via clever and searchable (by text) stickers, we are stuck with the stupid emoji. The Japanese don't even really use them anymore. Taco? Unicorn head? Yeah. Useful.
While a lot of people use stickers or emoji, very many don't bother with any of that. So it's not really "the rest of the world", it's just some people basically.

No. However, making emoji a prime time theme for the update sounds weird, don't you think? Rather than continuing to improve performance and new features...they bring happy faces to our iOS.

Because they can't do (and weren't doing) both?

Of course they can't do that. Right? 9.1 improves performance greatly, especially on earlier devices. Thanks Apple, great work! :D

I'm sure they could have emphasize on performance enhancement or some new productivity features as their biggest thing rather than throwing doggy biscuit of anti-jailbreak update and etc.

"get whats coming to you" lol because criticizing Apple means you deserve a defective product

Not so much criticizing as much as being a total d*** or a**hat about an issue that has yet to happen to them on a product they've still yet to receive. :p

Lol. Just saying. They used to bring in new features for (at least almost) every updates..especially with x.1 or x.x and so on.

They emphasized security fixes (which get exploited by jailbreaks) even less than performance and stability improvements. With a point release mainly the new features are called out, thus the first and main ones would be the new things and not improved/fixed/changed items. In any case, just because something was called out more prominently doesn't mean something else wasn't there. One thing doesn't affect the other.

Not sure how much more new stuff was there in 6.1 or 7.1 or 8.1 in comparison. Nothing really all that unusual or surprising about this update.

Stickers are proprietary, most of them are paid and only work on one app platform. I don't think Line or Line Stickers' artists will be willing to give away their design for free (by including in Unicode).

let's go back to iOS 3.x.x., when iOS 4 came out...I don't remember what features they had other than folder feature. Actually, i think 3 to iOS 6 had some major features...i forgot however.

iOS version history on Wikipedia can answer your questions.

That's right! Just tried it on my 6s plus 128gb and it works great! Key thing to remember is to put it screen side down, then to get it going remember to jump on it a little bit. Also works on water (unlike some).

Looking forward to this feature on the new iPad pro as its a more reasonable size.
