Great! Now let's wait and see if iOS 9.2 will finally deliver the performance improvements Apple promised, because the latest 9.1 beta was extremely laggy.

9.1 release notes mention "improved performance while in multitasking UI" The only specifics in the notes that I see mentioning performance.

I agree that getting any bug fixes is constructive. My reply was basically a commentary on MR's headline and primary focus on the new emoji. Like this was the greatest thing since the proverbial sliced bread.

Have it available to me now...only thing that mentions POP mail is something about erroneous unread email counts. Not too hopeful for those of us whose on-device POP account data has been ravaged by Mail on IOS 9 up to now.

Ah, yeah. I don't get the 'ooh, new emoji' vibe. I chalk it up to the fact that there's not a lot of outward changes, and since that's one of the few, it has the appearance of being greatly heralded, when really it's just being 'promoted' due to lack of other obvious features to tout.
