I can't believe June is just around the corner. As we get older, the time just flies right by, doesn't it?

Come to me, iPhone OS 3.0!

:apple:

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A312g Safari/528.16)

MMS still works for me. Using AT&T 5 carrier file since b3.

Got Theathering Back

Seems that the iTunes upgrade is blocking the ability to upgrade the carrier file. I switched back to a old version of iTunes and was able to update. I am not able to get MMS back

Actually after a full reset I got it backed

Can someone please tell me if they centered the text (vertically) in the SMS message field? It's been bugging me that it's too high.

3G speed increase?

Any one notice their download speed increasing on AT&T ? I just did a speed test and got 627kbps I normaly get around 310 kbps

Have a look at this

Playing sound using built-in speaker work in this version?

I noticed in the beta 4 release that if you tried to play anything in the iPod.app without headphones plugged in, no sound would come out. Anyone notice this?

I keep getting a restore bundle error (Bad Build Identity) when i try to restore my device from oraganizer in XCode to upgrade it to beta 5.

Anyone else encounter this?

I have downloaded it twice from the dev center, including the iTunes update. I haven't updated XCode yet (still downloading the full SDK) so I wonder if that's the issue... maybe if I restore via the updated iTunes version rather than organizer?

I am using the proper OS version for my device (3G)

FWIW, I updated to the new iTunes, did an update (not a restore) and MMS and tethering still work.

Hence, I think the issue causing MMS to be lost is update vs. restore as opposed to the new iTunes.

FYI

I was able to use the option+restore method in iTunes.

With the previous betas (post beta 1, pre beta 5) I was able to use organizer previous to installing the full blown SDK to perform the update, but this time I had to use iTunes.

I'm on AT&T in the USA.

I kept the first iTunes 8.2 beta and updated to iPhone OS beta 5 in iTunes. My MMS and tethering disappeared, but I resent the carrier file and options have reappeared upon a restart. Both features are working as before.

I'm in the same boat (they disappeared)... Can you tell me where you got the AT&T carrier file, and how you resent it?

Edit: Nevermind

Not seen the issue in the messaging app but in some third party apps text entry was above the box while entering. Seems to be resolved now, much better on the same apps.

I'll make you a mockup of what I mean. Give me a minute.

Edit: These are just mockups I made from 2.2.1 to simulate what 3.0 looked like from beta 1 through beta 4 so far. I'm hoping beta 5 fixed this. The text in the text field is too high within the text box in 3.0 but 2.2.1 is centered vertically. 2.2.1 looks nicer.

The image on the left is a mockup of what 3.0 looks like and the right is 2.2.1

Seriously. At 32 I'm not old at all (although the media/Hollywood/marketers apparently believe at 24 you die), but as the days/months/years go by things start to blend together. When you're a kid, you can't wait to get older and the days seem to last forever. Now, they seem to fly. Einstein's theory of relativity perhaps. :(

Wait 'till you hit 40…
Tick Tock…
