+1 yeey

Couldn't connect to the apple server for a while (or something like that), but now it worked, and it's all updated. It bumped my last icon from the main screen though, in favor of the Voice Memos app. Grr :)

I assume you mean your getting the one page with only the address book on it? I was an idiot on my phone and moved all of the icons one by one, but if you just move the address book icon to the next page, then hit the home button, it will correct it. So much easier.

Ah, nice, thanks. That saved a lot of time indeed.

I also needed to 'reboot' before it could find wifi networks again, but everything seems to be working pretty good so far.

Feel sorry for all of you that are taking forever to get this update. I'm in NYC, 10 Mbps internet, and the download / verification from apple took 4 min. I was very nervous after reading the last few pages of posts.

Are you all using iPhones or iPod touches? Maybe that'll make the difference? 3G for me

Has nothing to do with 3G. has to do with millions of us all trying to update our software now that we're home form work. Everyone, every conneciton is having trouble

Makes perfect sense. I didn't realize they would be coming from the same servers.

WTF am i missing something???

okay. I have 3.0 and i go to messaging but no mms.. its supposed to have some icon to either take a pic or attach a pic.... but it appears exaclty the same as the sms screen before... also i have seen the demo of tethering.. go to settings, general, network, then the tether button.... but i do not have a tether button...... it just is not there... am i missing something???? i just had a friend send me an mms and it came in like before. i have to go to a website to view it.... i have at&t currently in the us.

Very frustrating. I am basically being blocked from the App Store as I keep getting the new agreement in which I press agree but will not actually be given access

Done it about 10 times now and still....no actual answer

Makes me glad I updated to the GM 3.0 last week. Servers are getting hammered and all I'm trying to do is update some apps that are now 3.0 compatible.

So what does the update give the 1st gen phones. Anything? LOL sounds like most of it is for 3g

I have a 1st gen iPhone (excited about picking up the 3Gs on Friday) but I was curious about the 3.0 updates so I installed it, and in just a few minutes, I had copy/paste, landscape keyboard, spotlight search, a faster safari experience, and the "shake to shuffle" thingee. Sweet!!

until there is an update through apple for at&t we will not see those icons. Other countries have the icons because there carriers support it :)

Updated my software (including file download) in 20 minutes, no issues so far and it even saved the settings from my company Exchange server. :D

Apple knows how many iPod touches and iPhones have been sold worldwide up to this point, correct? The fact that they weren't prepared for this evening's server run is absurd, yet again. You think they would have learned from last year's MobileMe and 2.0 releases.

If I see "Unknown Error (-4)" one more time...

With those billions in cash reserves, I'd think something could be down about situations such as these.

Uh yeah, you're missing something. It's only been broadcast all over these forums and at WWDC last week that AT&T won't support MMS & tethering until later this summer.

you gotta be ^%$^%#^%#$ kidding me...... i just updated my messaging account and was told by at&t it would be supported. Now I have to b#@#ch to them about this...... the only reason i kept this phone this long was because the mms was coming....

This is completely useless. I expect half of America is trying to log on right now. Guess i'll just have to wait till tomorrow.

I wonder if internet speed makes a difference. I live in BFE and have 400k download, and 250K up (yes, you can all point and laugh at me here). All the 10mb and faster connections may "talk" to the Apple servers faster, and sneak through?

20 minutes until I leave work, buy lots-O-coffee, and join the rest of the drones clicking update :apple::):apple::):apple:

I don't know if this was suppose to be like this but the option to "kill" an app by holding the home button for 6 or whatever seconds isn't working anymore

Anybody else?

The 3G-S Home button will activate push-to-talk capabilites. They said you will need to hold down the sleep button, then when the shut down slider appears, hold down the home button. That will then end the app. Give that a try?

App Store - Updates WTF?!?

I'm not about to go through 800 + comments.....

What's up with "updates" (app store) being moved to the "more" tab?!? BS!!!!

Running physically hot with 3.0

Just installed 3.0.

Put the phone in my pocket for 90 minutes on the way to work.

Just pulled it out and it's really hot. I mean, really hot.

My battery is showing nearly empty as well.

What the?
