homescreen wallpaper for 3G users? or smoother folder opening for 3G users? or fixed digital zoom for 3G users? hmmm

I don't believe much is planned for 2nd Generation iPod Touch or iPhone 3G users. Updated email and folders is probably about the extent of it. Why they could not at least add wallpaper? I assume holding things like that back will encourage people to upgrade to a newer device.

Told Ya'!

I knew an OS X seed couldn't come without an iPhone OS beta. OS X just doesn't fill the slot anymore.

Just kiddin'!

I've just noticed this. The weather app Icon now has the degree notification located on the Icon, ala, calendar with the right day date. Is this new in 4 or was it in the previous?

Screenshot or it didn't happen.

Mine says 73 degrees (3.1.3) and the Gizmodo one says 73 degrees as well.

User that posted the screenshot in the thread is in the UK, so their weather icon is showing temperature in celsius. 23 degrees celcius = 73 degrees fahrenheit, so I don't see any difference here. If someone has a home screen that shows otherwise, please share.

I think that's what it is to be honest.

I wish Apple gave devs an IDE for live-updating icons. Could be cool having lots of informative icons.

Indeed,

Someone should really contact Steve Jobs about this :p.

You will never be able to install any beat iPhone software on a PC, because the beta software is meat for developers to make sure there apps work on 4.0, and to widen the base of people using it to find bugs faster. and seeing as only devs are supposed to have it, they odiously have a mac, because the sdk only works on mac. so why would they bother making it install on windows when they could use that time so make the firmware better? so in there eyes, everyone thats supposed to have it, can install it. people that arn't supposed to have it, can do what they want, but have to deal with the fact that apple wont consider you because your going behind there backs. (im not mad at you, im in the same category as you, i just own a mac teehee. just making sure your clear on when your getting yourself into when you install beta software when your not supposed to :)

Wow, English....

Anywho, just because I am a PC user does not mean I am not somehow involved with the development of an app for the iPhone.

So, maybe think before you type.

So has anyone actualy set up tethering, do they really let you do it. I would down lode the beta but my connection is bad, ill do this when I drill the hole in my floor so I can put my router back on my main floor but that's not any concern of you. And I'm guessing if you can set tethering up you have to pay.

Is it douchey to remind everyone that Tethering has been available here in Canada since the 3GS came out, and has always been free?

Ha. Apple will just claim it'll suck battery life, come back to this 2-3 years from now and then claim that they found a way to do this without sucking battery life.

Sighs.

i still have beta three and just getting it now mine says 73 and I hope to jesus marry joseph and god yall are right. I'm quite a simpleton and that along with printing ability are both more useful to me than multitasking. Oh but folders is awesome. Oh never mind I really want pandora in the background I guess I just find it useless now cause its just a fast app switcher and nothing more

The weather app does not show real time temps. Nor does the clock show real time time.

Furthermore the tethering option doesn't show on my 3GS using this build.

Has the 2 - 4 second delay when you answer a call been fixed?

Also anyone that had problems with vvm is it working for you now?

Are 3G users able to set a background / wallpaper in OS4b4 yet? Looking for a confirmation on this.

I believe it has already been confirmed that wallpapers are not going to be supported on the older devices unless Apple changed their mind. I know I would like to see it for my 2nd Gen Touch, but I am not expecting it.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll skip this version then... and stick to JB.
