Hey look!
I got it! :p

Aaaaannddd... it's still 9.2.1. But I like the icon, personally. So while I was bored, I added it for no reason...

...and now I'm telling you for no reason...

Gosh Apple is taking a long time...

It really looks out of place... I can't imagine having this on my Dock staring at me day in day out. The colours are far too bright and saturated, it has no matte effect, it's too atypical to be the real iTunes 10 icon, I'd bet this icon and UI is an experiment.

looks pretty good when its on the dock.. why can't we download itunes 10 yet ?

+ 1, It does look out of place, doesn't blend in with the other icons.. but I don't really mind it.. as long as there are performance improvements on itunes 10 I'll be happy.. the new skin looks decent, but can't tell until we use it.

Knowing Apple I think they might update the icon considering the amount of people not really happy with it..

I like the icon.

Mind you as I still cant download it (and its tomorrow now) it really makes no difference.

Which dock is that?

The new icon works for me. Remember guys, the old one has a CD. Who actually uses CDs anymore?

One could also argue that the new icon should incorporate more of what iTunes actually is; an application to organize all of our media.

Way to break the Mac OS X interface standard even more, Apple. This must be Apple's way of hinting at 10.7's interface tweaks. I vaguely remember them doing the same thing with Safari on Tiger before Leopard was out (replacing the brushed aluminum look for the smooth gray look).

PPC is a different architecture to Intel, XP runs on Intel and is 'easier' to code for and support.

Sorry, but it's time you upgraded.

If it can't run 10.5 that means your computer is from 2002 or earlier as my 2002 PM G4 could run 10.5...

2002... must be a dual processor
My system is a 867 G4 and I "borrowed" leopard and took it right back off as it ran like crap.
I have all my music on my Mac as well as photo's movies...etc and my PC is just for Internet use for the nephews

I'm actually really excited to try Ping out. Not because I plan to use it much, but because I'd like to see how Apple handles it.

Okay, now we need to update the first post with:

1) How to put the buttons back in the right place.
2) How to change the stupid icon. (For people who don't already know)
3) The answer to if this is written in Cocoa.

Honestly, do the iTunes people never talk to the OSX people? They must have a different lunch break or something because they're a bit off lately.

Does anyone have an idea of Apple's URL structure for downloads. I can try and find it (must be on their server somewhere).

Yeah, right, somebody else explains it to you so you can "find it". You don't honestly believe that Apple is careless enough to publically place files online that are not to be released yet?

And you clearly haven't been here to long because it's sometimes been found on Apple servers at least an hour before being released to the public.

Good day sir!

I just thought you’d like to know in case you hadn’t heard: iTunes 10 actually is meant to be released!

Carry on, and have a fine evening!

Do you REALLY think it's Cocoa? Hah! We'll be lucky if we EVER get a Cocoa iTunes.

Never had one issue with iTunes ever. I have never seen the balloon or any other issues talked about here.

Win7 64-bit
8GB
Quad-Core

Ditto that. And I'm assuming most of the complaints are coming from Mac users (considering the site..) which is even more perlexing. I could understand if it was windows, but I've not had a stutter with iTunes on my iMac.

I'm starting to think the first time the iTunes developers heard that this was being released today was today, during the event :D

but his specs are really nice; so he does not see the lagging.

remember most of the Macs the specs are above averge (if not the top specs); you seldom see low specs on the Mac (in terms of CPUs and hardware)

but on windows side you got all kinda of machines, single core, pentium 1GB RAM 2GB RAM.

The design of the new icon seems interesting at least for the fact that seems to whisper about a new UI in OS 10.7.
Don't you guys think so? In my opinion it doesn't look really random in style, it seems to come out of a whole UI system.

Not really random, it seems to me in line with the Quicktime X icon.

I agree it is a view into Apple's new graphical style perhaps. I don't know how to describe it. They are both somewhat 'eerie' looking.

Don't really love the iTunes icon (but the CD did have to go). The Quicktime one is ok though.
