Lemme second this, the new iTunes design SUCKS!

Why? What exactly would be gained from a 64bit iTunes?
I really do not understand the logic in changing the orientation of the "traffic lights ".
Very odd decision.
But what I hate the most, is that they stole the complete concept of Last.fm and Steve has the nerves to tell us that it is something completely new!!!

Who says it's more polished? Looked pretty basic and boring to me with nowhere near the level of detail last.fm offers.Fully agree: I love my last.fm. That ping thing isn't a "new" thing. It's just a more polished last.fm kind of social network. The only difference is the big dbase subscribers they have and start with. I guess I'll stick with my last.fm network for now, as it can do way more than what that ping can do.
I hate the idea that apple wants to get into the social media business ... Also the name Ping is kinda stupid!

Anyone know if the new iTunes will break sync with a jailbroken iPhone? (From past experiences, etc..?) Gonna have to test this out first before dropping the new iTunes on my computer. Thank god for VMs

I would have appreciated if Apple would have worked together with Facebook and implement this Social Music feature (Ping) directly into Facebook, so I don't have to maintain another account next to all my other social community accounts...
I just guessed it's more polished... I think I was trying to say "basic", rather than "polished". Thanks for pointing it out!Who says it's more polished? Looked pretty basic and boring to me with nowhere near the level of detail last.fm offers.
How pointless if it was just another Facebook app, even if implemented inside iTunes. It would be good if they could be linked, so posts would go to Facebook too, but no way would I want it to rely on Zuckerberg's empire. If you are peeved at Apple borrowing from last.fm, remember how Facebook has ripped everybody off, from the people he was supposed to develop what became Facebook for in the first place, to Twitter. Steve didn't lay any claim on it being a new concept, just that it was Twitter or Facebook for Music. As for the name, I like it; it's certainly no worse than Microsoft's BingI hate the idea that apple wants to get into the social media business ... Also the name Ping is kinda stupid!

Unfortunately must agree... Also, as others have said, the traffic lights are not very appealing... Was really hoping for a total revamp in iTunes 10, looks like even more bloat pinned on to the groaning beast that is iTunes...
Ping will be a hit though for sure.
However, I've never really been one to get too into social networking, does anybody else find publishing that much info to the world a bit like being naked in public? In other words, I'd rather no one know about my secret Avril Lavigne/Lady GaGa obsession....![]()
well, yeah, anyways, whatever, but... PING?! wtf!?
SO, who's gonna do.. PONG?!![]()
..
And can I ping my Facebook? Or Facebook my Ping?
Thoughts??
I imagine it is linked with your iTunes account so not really an issue as far as creating another account.
