Having a difficult time reliably positioning a song or audiobook where I want

Is anyone else having trouble grabbing and dragging that tiny little position pointer for a song or audiobook?
This is on Windows 7 64bit iTunes 12.01

So does the new iTunes 12.0.1 fix the synching issues with your iPhone? Or will iOS 8.1 do that?

Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong here considering that one of these operating systems is just five years old, made by Apple and still considered to be the best OS X by many, while the other is 13 years old, made by Microsoft, and has been declared dead even by them?

But don't come running when explorer.exe crashes because you were browsing your files too fast.

NOW I'M FURIOUS!

iTunes 12 runs on Windows XP 32 bit systems but requires OS X 10.7 or greater!

No one wants to run 10.7 because it was a lemon like Windows Vista and Mt Lion fixed most of Lions bugs but I can't run 10.8 or higher on my MacPro! (Is 10.7 even available today? Where can it be downloaded?)

Excuse me but 10.5/10.6 was released waaaaay after Windows XP! I smell a class action lawsuit.

Apple must release iTunes 12 for Snow Leopard systems or pull iTunes for Windows XP 32 bit and require 64 bit Windows 7 or higher.

How many computers are running 10.6 or below vs how many are running XP? And there you go. Class action over what exactly? The decision of a company as to wha they want to or not want to support? Yeah...

Apple needs to drop support for Windows XP 32 bit and require a 64 bit OS like Windows 7 or higher. Apple is requiring a 64 bit system to run Yosemite and no one wants to run 10.7 because it was a lemon so I'm stuck at 10.6 on my imac.

Remember when Apple sold computers that they said could play DVDs bit couldn't, Apple had to fix this.
Recent battery gate with iPhone 3GS. Ppl recently received their checks.
My MacPro was mfg after Windows XP was released, forcing Mac users to buy new computers to run current software where PC users don't have to.

Fairly unrelated comparisons. The logic doesn't hold up there. I can understand being bitter about something but that doesn't make it actionable somehow.

Small thing that iritates me the most is the fact I have to always click that black triangle to expand device list when I switch tabs/etc...ugh. Managing music on iPhone/etc is terrible without seeing how much space left (in Music tab)

Is 10.7 even available today? Where can it be downloaded?
Here - http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion - however I'd say it's a downgrade from 10.6 so I wouldn't bother. Run Windows XP in a VM if you really want iTunes 12, however mad needing to do that is...

Or if it's a Mac Pro 1,1/2,1, check the forums for the boot.efi method of running something newer like 10.9 or 10.10 on it - though our 1,1 here still runs 10.6 as I think it's a fantastic OS and don't feel the need to try upgrading yet (also the 64-bit only versions require you to upgrade your graphics card if you still have one of the original ones).

You better brace yourself--the Sidebar officially no longer exists in iTunes 12.0.1. :(

However, if you've run iTunes 11.x versions in non-Sidebar mode, you should be able to use it to manually sync media to your iPod or iPhone. Otherwise, there's going to be a bit of a learning curve.

They want you to buy new macs. They do not want you buying new windows software.

Also, legally, I believe 5 years is the minimum support before the software becomes "vintage" and companies don't have to support it.

Seriously, is everyone who has any Apple hardware 12 years old?

Seriously, rich arrogant people need to stop complaining about the idea of supporting older hardware. One of the great things about Apple hardware is that it can last for decades. It gets passed down through the family, sold on eBay and just keeps on working. Legacy support is a good thing. Apple has the many billions of dollars kicking around and by providing legacy support they gain more customers who buy their content and may buy new hardware in the future. You need to be so short sighted and stop complaining about other people's older computers. Alternatively, buy everyone brand new hardware.

Is anyone getting the trending searches popout from the search box persistently in the iTunes Store? I had it on 12.0 as well but thought it would be fixed with the release version. Covers up a good portion of the menu on the right side, and won't go away until I type something in the search box or click on a blank space in the store.

Goes away if I click on a black space, but if I go to the updates tab, the cursor appears in the library search box, and if I go back to the store the trending searches pop up comes back. Have to click in a blank space again. Pretty annoying 'feature'.

I see no grounds for a lawsuit. It's more down to relative numbers running each OS.

Percentage wise, the number of people on Snow Leopard is negligible. Not so with Windows XP.

Also there are threads where people have got Mavericks working just fine on a Mac Pro (not MacPro it is 2 words). It's a bit of a hack but it works very well.

Also a clean install of Lion with all updates applied is just fine. Early versions were indeed terrible, but it is stable enough at 10.7.5 I run it on an old iMac I have.

They did because the product was not as described. Not the case with your issue.

Recent battery gate with iPhone 3GS. Ppl recently received their checks.

The product was faulty. Different case to yours again

No they're not forcing you to do anything.

Does iTunes 11 still work? Yes

Did it stop working the instant that iTunes 12 was released? No.

Can you still use your Mac and iTunes 11 in exactly the same way you could yesterday? Yes

No grounds for a suit.

Hmm Lawsuit for FREE software? Interesting. So companies now HAVE to provide their FREE software to all versions of old OS's or hardware or they will be sue'd. wow. I guess you could sue them for the full cost of the software.

Goodness, finding the sidebar WITH list option was a pain. Glad I did, though. Goodness, Apple, stop shoving your own idea of how I should manage my music down my throat...

Still miss the TV Show season picker that let you jump straight to a particular season but at least they fixed the missing delete option for Audiobooks bug.

I really want to try out the new iTunes, but I want to make sure too that if I decide to go back to version 11 after a couple of days, I’ll be able to just do that.

How should I proceed?

So mac and up only...is this going to play nice with 11 on my other mac, via iTunes match? That older one is really my main iTunes machine, I can't afford to have it breaking my main library via their cloud stuff.

You need to be really careful since it updates the format of your iTunes library and 11 won't read it. If you want to risk it you need to back up your iTunes library files if not the whole library and keep them in a safe place so you can try and revert to those.

Yeah this. So far on Yosemite iTunes wifi sync still fails like before; restart iOS device and you're good for a while, then its gone.

I like the way iTunes 12 looks. I especially like that album covers no longer have fuzzy edges.

One minor nit - the Account Name in the control bar displays my legal name instead of my nickname - it shows William instead of Will.

Surprised to say iTunes 12 is running faster than 11 ever did for me on Lion 10.7.5.
