Where's the sidebar? I'm returning to iTunes 11 right now
----------
Bang&Olufsen is a premium brand and I think there wouldn't be interested to partner with Apple.
I hear you on iTunes' little annoyances.
But the good news is that in Songs view you can sort 'Album by Artist/Year' - keep clicking on the Album column until it comes up.
So they we can have broke arrogant people demanding that resources that go in to development of new hardware and software be used to maintenance outdated equipment? That's a great idea.Seriously, rich arrogant people need to stop complaining about the idea of supporting older hardware.
So what exactly is the complaint here? I have taken advantage of this and sold old Apple equipment on line. I make a premium and often update to new equipment for very little out of pocket cost. One of the great things about Apple hardware is that it can last for decades. It gets passed down through the family, sold on eBay and just keeps on working.
Except when it cuts in to your user base. Have you noticed that the processing power of iPads continues to increase? There was a movie in the 90's called Sneakers. Robert Redford and Ben Kingsley sit down on a Cray XMP during a conversation. My Mac Mini Retina has the same computing power as that device, and my Mac Mini Retina does it on 12 watts compared to the kilowatts of power consumed by the Cray. My point, if the computing you can do works on Apple equipment that is that old, upgrade to an iPad with a ClamCase. You will do the same using less power. You will be environmentally conscious. You will save energy. You will spend less on power. You will become rich and arrogant....Legacy support is a good thing.
That they got by NOT providing legacy support.Apple has the many billions of dollars kicking around
You really think Apple would pass up an opportunity to make money if it was there? The fact is Apple has people that know EXACTLY how far back they should support equipment. It is more complicated than, "hey guys, we have a few billion laying around, let's risk it by supporting less than 10% of our installed base because they whine REALLY loud."and by providing legacy support they gain more customers who buy their content and may buy new hardware in the future.
The only short sightedness that has been demonstrated in this post is your own. Apple has the money to access the best and brightest in ANY field. Are YOU really so arrogant to assume that YOU know more than the people Apple has access to? Before you call people names and assume things about them, stop and think, "hmmm I'm talking about a multi BILLION dollar company..."You need to be so short sighted and stop complaining about other people's older computers. Alternatively, buy everyone brand new hardware.
Keep in mind that Yosemite is a free upgrade for Snow Leopard users. Windows 8.1 costs money for Windows XP users, and some computers may not be able to run newer versions. Though it might be a good idea to pull the plug on Windows XP support for iTunes, as it may be the last straw for XP diehards. Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong here considering that one of these operating systems is just five years old, made by Apple and still considered to be the best OS X by many, while the other is 13 years old, made by Microsoft, and has been declared dead even by them?

What I don't like is the new red icon and the folders icons. I mean, are they frigging seriously? They look like taken from Mac OS 9!!!!
Nice new look but the problem with iTunes Match still exists and where my iPhone is not appearing on iTunes. I wonder when they are going to work on glitches more and less about looks or just both.
I like the new setup, but the whole flat look is retro looking like windows 3.5. I guess because I'm old enough that I ran 3.5 (dos also).
I'm having the same issue! My iphone 5 running iOS 8.0.2 won't show up in iTunes. Even after I enter the passcode and hit "trust" for trusting my computer. Any troubleshooting tips??
