OSX won't boot up past the blue intro screens. I've actually no idea what to do now. Any keys I should hold down to get back into my system?

It said you now could use usb cameras for video chat in ichat, and it wont work please help

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Third-Party USB cameras aren't supposed to work. I'm guessing this is just a new update to internal iSight cameras via USB. Sure some third-party cameras may work because of the update, but that's not the point of the update.

Not to mention that if he's trying to use his v610 it'll never work, as that can't be used as a webcam in any case.

xbox camera support

anyone notice that ichat and os x now have complete support to with the usb xbox live vision, no drivers necessary!!!

Man, and I just ran software update like 5 hours ago!

Here we go again!

How comes on my MBP and my ladies MB the update is only 99.4 MB?

Not at all, it's a waste of time. It's voodoo, and it's stupid. Put people that tell you to repair permissions before and after updates on your list of folk you don't trust to give you Mac advice.

Thank you. I was thinking about saying something like this, but it gets wearisome after the nth repetition....

Updated without problems on my MBP Core Duo. Volume is much louder.

However .... I swear my laptop feels warmer than before. Yeah, I have the firmware update installed.

everything seems good except that it didn't fix the little insomia problem with my computer. the computer wont sleep unless told to do so. it started happening when the Airport Extreme Update came out.

What I have noticed on my Macbook Core Duo.

1. They definitely did something with Quartz...animation seems much smoother.

2. Did not notice a volume change on a Core Duo Macbook.

3. They fixed a big pet peeve of mine. Previously, my screen would dim after 5 or so seconds, even with that setting turned off. It is FINALLY fixed!

4. Spotlight seems faster.

We will see what other stuff pops up while I use this tonight.

updating now. I don't think I would have done it if I'd noticed that menu meters no longer works, but I don't want to stop it while it's installing.

hmmm, anyone know what the new "Mouse scrolling and keyboard shortcuts" are? Sounds interesting. I guessing the keyboard shortcut could just be the longer eject time on F12.

Suspended my mbp in the middle of the update (OOPS!) but everything still went fine and without a hitch. Sound is definitely louder, and maybe more fuller? And iPhoto is definitely faster on the loading and closing.

Good and not quite as good...

I can affirm what others have said (faster iphoto/spotlight, louder volume). One oddity that presented itself is that the OS no longer saw any of my external Firewire drives. It saw my USB drive find but my 3 Firewires were MIA, not even showing up in disk utility. Repairing permissions and restarting didn't fix it either. So I restarted one more time after disconnecting everything from the iMac except ethernet, power (duh) and keyboard/mouse. Then I added the drives one by one after booting was completed and they all work properly. A little odd, but I'm just glad they're back.

The 10.4.9 update was 74 MB for my 15" PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz. Took about 2 mins to download and installed without a hitch.

About the release date for Leopard...it might be after WWDC 07'...I was looking at the Apple website front page and click on the WWDC 07' link and I was checking out the tickets and found this: http://developer.apple.com/products/

I don't know much about WWDC, but if you buy one of their tickets and get a preview version of Leopard, one would guess they won't actually release Leopard until right after (or during) WWDC 07'.
