TI don't know much about WWDC, but if you buy one of their tickets and get a preview version of Leopard, one would guess they won't actually release Leopard until right after (or during) WWDC 07'.
You get the preview version(s) if and only if you also purchase a Select or Premier membership, in which case you get the software immediately (via download, and shortly via mail).

That's what I meant, but would my original conjecture hold true, or does that have nothing to do with the release of Leopard?

Eject? Nooo

Wtf!!!
I can't use "ctrl + eject" anymore to shut down my MacPro beauty. This is unbelievable. What a mess.

I read that it is an "improvement" to hold the eject key longer in order to eject. Well maybe it is for the notebook guys, but what about me? I don't need that "feature" on my standard keyboard. The eject key is far to the right. I never hit it by mistake.

This bugs me deeply. Shame on Apple this time.

Does anybody know if there's a way to turn this off? Back to the way it was?
I'd appreciate any suggestion a lot.

:(((

The 10.4.9 update was 74 MB for my 15" PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz. Took about 2 mins to download and installed without a hitch.

About the release date for Leopard...it might be after WWDC 07'...I was looking at the Apple website front page and click on the WWDC 07' link and I was checking out the tickets and found this: http://developer.apple.com/products/

duuuuuuuude they just share the same page.

OSX won't boot up past the blue intro screens. I've actually no idea what to do now. Any keys I should hold down to get back into my system?
Boot from your install DVD and use Disk Utility (it's it's in the menu bar under "Utilities" after you choose a language) and "Repair Disk". Then repair disk permissions for good measure.

jesus... 10.4.9 completely S L O W E D my computer down (iMac Core 2 Duo)... and it seems this isn't the first time an OS update totally F'ed my computer... geez, thanks apple... :(

Delete this post if you must, but Safari is snappier!

I posted back on page 7 that Safari was snappier, and it was no joke.
It appears that my post was unceremoniously deleted.

Whatever, my Airport connection shows more bars (5 instead of 4),
and pages are indeed loading faster in Safari...

Dare I say it?: Safari is snappier™!!

10.4.9 - printer problems

I'm going to call this one a dud. It has completely screwed up my networked printers. Not helpful.

Update - so after following up all of the possible issues, for some reason after the update one of my airports - the airport express - was not being recognized. That airport has a color laser via the LAN port and an ink jet on the usb - thus, the printing problem. I unplugged and repowered and it was recognized. I don't know why it didn't get picked up after the upgrade, but it looks like an easy problem to solve.

I run OS X... drivers... ??? problem solved as noted above, but had to give you a hard time for a very Win 95 fix. :apple: Thanks for the note.

Yeah, my HP printer is crap, and so i have to continually download and reinstall the driver to get it to work. Glad it was solved though.

Illustrator CS2 does not crash after OS X update

So I completed the update and tested out Illustrator CS2. No crashes. :D Thanks for getting that fixed Apple... it was getting very annoying to know a program I use too often had to be adjusted to make sure it doesn't crash unexpectedly.

so it appears Finder's File menu has been updated (i.e. ctrl-click options were moved?)... and is it me, or has the volume of my MBP speakers increased? and of course, Safari is snappier as usual

EDIT: So I just ran sudo periodic daily weekly monthly, and there is a NEW sudo warning, at least I've never seen it:

WARNING: Improper use of the sudo command could lead to data loss
or the deletion of important system files. Please double-check your
typing when using sudo. Type "man sudo" for more information.

To proceed, enter your password, or type Ctrl-C to abort.

What about the massive discounts if you bought a Mac one month before Tiger cam out?

Myth. The discount has only ever applied if you bought the machine after the new OS release date was announced. It's never been "one month" in OS X's history.

Not picking on you, just want to make sure nobody gets disappointed. ;)
