Installed the update and yes C2D MBP volume is higher. So far so good but the update breaks the App MainMenu, no PhotoBooth or Eject key issues here.

Apparently my DVD player no longer works. The eject key on my G5 doesn't work, I can't eject a DVD through the DVD player (it says "Supported Disc Not Available" and there isn't a disc in the drive) and I can't even get the burn icon to show up.

Anyone else have a similar problem. BTW, I have a 1.6Ghz G5.

UPDATE: I got the drive to open via the Toast interface.

Argh, this update has killed my Airport on my Core 2 Duo Macbook.

The antenna icon just flashes on and off now, I can't connect to any networks anymore.

Any thoughts?

Ok, I've come up with a temporary solution. Turning off WEP "fixed" the connection. Of course, now I'm running without WEP. This is using a standard DI-642 DLink router. Anyone else seeing this?

Could not resist, restarted - everything is fine with Photo Booth, but it was amazingly slow when starting up after the first restart, so I did another one which seemed to be as quick as before.. is this normal?

Yes - I've encountered that before. I figure the installation is finishing up some work while this is taking place or it's recreating the page file or ???. But, nothing to worry about.

Upgraded MacBook Airport Still Works as "n" ???

To any of you intrepid upgraders out there:

If you have upgraded the Airport card in a MacBook (Core Duo) with the MacPro "n" card AND installed this 10.4.9 OS update, do you still retain the "n" functionality? There was a single report by an ADC member on another site a couple of weeks ago that installed the BETA 10.4.9 and said that he lost the "n" functionality.

Before I upgrade, I want to make sure this was either an anomoly or something related to it still being in BETA.

Anyone with this specific situation taken the plunge yet? Please provide feedback when you have it.

Problem

After installing my macbook1,1 didn't shutdown correctly (it just 'hanged' after the round-round-round go thing... (that disapeard, but after that my fan got speed and nothing happend for 5 minutes...). I shut it down by pressing the power for 5 sec's.... took some while with booting, but all seems to be ok...

Just another thing...it seems like Safari's memory leak problem is gone or at least minimized...any confirmations?

I doubt it...it's up to 375 MB real memory on my PB after just over two hours of usage.

Yes I did, but only after installing the airport update the other day. Suckie hey?

i was downloading the update and it was mid way through and my internet connection dropped out....i had aready dowloaded airport update so it made me restart......is this gone mess anything up if i start it again????

Well I was hoping that 10.4.9 would support the Sony GPS-CS1, but it still doesn't work on my PPC iMac. Not unless I run Ubuntu on it anyway. Come on Apple, this device has been out for 6 months and Mac OS is the ONLY operating system it doesn't work with - whatever happened to 'stuff just works on a Mac'?

Thanks for nothing :(

Two Things I Noticed

One thing that has improved for me is Spotlight, it is very quick now
I'm running a Powerbook G4 1.67 1GB Ram

I think that one thing it broke is now i can't capture in FCE or iMovie from my DV camera but this could be cause of many things but never had a problem until today

Anyone know where can I find a list of new supported devices from iSync?

I want to buy a D900 from Samsung, but it is (at least in 10.4.8) not supported in iSync.

I don't know. The list of iSync supported devices from Apple is here, but I don't know if they've updated it for 10.4.9.

Personally I hope they've introduced native support for the Nokia N80. It's been 9 months you know...

No problems here

Just upgraded to 10.4.9, experienced a slow restart after the upgrade, but restarted again nice and quick. Photo Booth is working fine as is everything else.

MBP 2GHZ C2D

Go for it everyone!

No. It will first download the whole update, then probably do (invisible to you) an integrity check and then it will start installing, and only the parts that it can before a reboot. Most stuff happens after the reboot anyhow.
