My settings are exactly how they are when I first set up the hot spots many months ago. I move the cursor to the top left hand corner and the screen dims, but it doesn't show any of the windows open. E.G. at the moment I have Finder, Mail, iTunes and Safari open. The only way I can see that those are open is to click on the button for a few seconds and see the open windows, e.g. the open windows in Safari.

Do a reboot. Check one more time in software Update that the updates have been installed.

A simple reboot did the job! All working now. Safari is much snappier too.

Been waiting a while for 10.6.3 to come out & so far it's looking good.

Roll on iTunes 9.1...

Yeah I'm really loath to say anything about safari snappiness, but with the smooth scrolling enabled, scrolling with my wheel does seem a lot smoother. Placebo effect maybe..

I wonder what effect this will have on Crossover though, if there's really been a massive performance boost for OpenGL, Crossover should get much much better suddenly? (i know a load of the games will be native soon, but not all!)

3 out or 4

3 out of 4 machines I upgraded went fine. The fourth now boots up to the "Don't" circle. I'll have to investigate that when I get home.

I am very disappointed to report that Spaces and the Dashboard are still jerky on a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo Blackbook running with an external monitor in extended desktop mode.

Apple seems unable or unwilling to develop a decent video driver for the X3100 controller. Shame…

I think its your MB, on my MBP with 23'' external display works perfect (with 9400 on use), no more choppy animation.

sorry pal.

Am I the only one who has noticed that OpenGL 3.0 still isn't fully supported in this release.

Fail!

Same thing. Not sticking. Does anybody with 64bit kernel see Unsupported extensions in the System Profiler's Software>Extensions tab?

Also, first bug in 10.6.3, icons are disappearing in the dock.

Yay! Finally my VMWare fusion performance issue with the X3100 is fixed.

Took long enough, Apple introduced the lagginess around 10.5.2 with the Graphic Driver update.

Does anyone know if these OpenGL imrovements will speed up the operation of VMware and parallels? I mean, I run Win7 with Aero enabled in Parallels.. Is that using OpenGL to display things?

This could be an incredibly significant update for me if so.

err, if I remember correctly the last thing I used to default 64 bit was this preference pane: http://www.thrull.com/corner/mac/SystemModeConfigurator/

If that doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you.

Extremely minor, but the AIM Running Man logo has changed.

Good catch. Didn't notice that.

Getting ready for games . . . Steam, etc. No?
I'm guessing this is the result of the report collaboration between Valve and Apple engineers.
Lovely

Hopefully Apple will put Open GL 4.0 in 10.6.4.
I'd expect them to implement 3.3 first, 4.0 will be pointless until Macs ship with OpenGL 4.0 capable cards

I'd rather they just get it over with and implement 4 so we won't have to wait for them to update it when new Macs are released.
