Click On details under this Mac is Enrolled in the Developer beta program. Then click restart, Then do a software update. If you don't as you stated 15.1 here we come you if previous years are anything to go by you will start receiving betas for 15.1 etc
I'm definitely staying on the beta train for this release, so the profile is staying. :p

So I'm on Catalina Public Beta from a few weeks back(stopped updating after the keynote). How do I upgrade from this Beta to the public release?
Option 1: Remove your beta profile - restart your Mac - and check for updates.
Option 2: Use the link that has been posted in this thread, if you can't find macOS 10.15 Catalina in the App Store

After downloading the Safari 13.0.2 update and ignoring the Catalina upgrade, Apple has redecorated my system settings icon so I will be reminded that I was smart enough to wait for the 10.15.1 release.

What colors are the folders in this release of MacOS? Are they still the awful blue? I might hold off upgrading until LiteIcon is updated.

Only on the App Store, or can it be done through settings too?

Can't see it on either, just wanna know which to go to when it shows up lol.

It seems both methods are possible. I'm wondering if there is a difference when installing through settings and App Store.

Silly you... 🤣

Lightroom? Nah, you should consider Capture One! 😇

I don't edit on my Mac anymore. Lightroom is fantastic because I can drop my photos on my Mac just so that I have a local copy backed up to my RAID and then grab my iPad Pro and do all of my editing there. The seamless integration across Mac and iPad is why I prefer Lightroom.

I’ve never understood, or had the discipline for, waiting 3-6 months to upgrade an OS. I know the practice is common in the enterprise and in the Windows world, but it’s one of the many reasons why I am a Mac fan.

But with Catalina, I’m not going anywhere near this toxic stew. And I know when I do upgrade, I’ll lose a ton of media functionality because of the bugs in the AppleTv and related media apps.

Apple needs to fix it’s junk keyboard and get it’s act together on software. Both have had issues for some time, and are not being addressed by Apple.

I thought I saw that in the Mac App store the other day. Is that the latest version that sells for around $60 bucks or was the one in the store an updated version?
I downloaded it from the App Store years ago. Not sure how much it cost, but it wasn't anything like $60. Probably $30 or something. They just never released a 64 bit version of it, so eventually Apple removed it from the App Store.

Still stuck on around 10% not moving on the black screen. Turned off at the back and it popped on saying 25 minutes now back to saying ‘Estimating time remaining...’ then if I press the button once at the back it comes back saying 9 minutes remaining again. Think I will leave it a few hours to see if any better but what are my options if still the same? Can’t hear anything whirring etc inside. iMac 2017

I used to download these immediately but with a new 2019 iMac I’m going to hold off for awhile. Been reading about too many bugs that are causing major headaches.

I am excited for the changes - so long bloated iTunes

how did you create a usb stick? with Catalina the old method does not work
After downloading exit from Install Catalina. Make sure that its in your applications folder. (you may want to make a backup of the installer first) Insert a 16gb USB Pendrive format it as Untitled using MacOS journaled. Open terminal and use the following text
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled

if anyone wants to create a USB Installer follow these instructions.

Um... It doesn't appeared to be on both App Store or Software Update for me.

Edit.
Restarted my Mac and it appeared in Software Update. Now downloading at 1Gbps..... Est 2 min.

15 minutes have gone by and still sitting in the “Setting up your Mac” screen with setting up and a spinning circle. Why does it take so long!?

Normally I also jump on the bandwagon quite soon. This time I think I will wait a while because if this MacOS is as buggy as iOS 13, then I don't want to deal with that. Several quick updates later iOS 13 is still not good.

Actually, the new Music app feels kind of like iTunes used to do in the olden day, up until version 4 or thereabouts, so in a way Music is what iTunes used to be like before it was bloated beyond recognition...
The era has just been split and moved around a bit. I believe everything is still there just in different spots.
Yeah yeah but it's not called iTunes anymore... fond childhood memories, alright?! *sniffle* 😆

Anyone try to send a PDF from mail and see how poor the image now looks? Curious if anyone else has this issue.

Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac stopped getting security updates back in 2013, 6 years ago. Hope you've been virus scanning Word documents before opening them (at least ones you didn't create yourself).

Thanks for the word of caution! However, to quote the late Christopher Hitchens (who quoted someone else with this): "The telly is not for watching, it's for being on". Likewise I only write Word documents, I never import or read anyone else's 😆
