what's the itunes version?
Hold your horses... I'm doing an upgrade from Sierra with iTunes 12.6.2.20. I unplugged my network connection just in case it tries to upgrade my iTunes over the network. That way I'll see if the iTunes 12.7 is in the installer.

I dare someone to install this on a 2010 Mac Mini that has an internal SSD & 8Gib RAM.
I'm dong that now on a 2011 mini with those specs, will that do?
EDIT: 35 minutes from clicking the install button to the desktop. Runs just as well if not a tad quicker than the betas I had been running. i will tell you that two times during the install, the mini got hot and fans were running full speed. But now back to normal temps and fan speeds.

cool, thanks man!

I just attempted this on my MacBook Pro (2016 with TB). Install started, showed 38 minutes remaining, then it popped up stating there was an error, and to reboot. Now my MacBook Pro just boots with the awesome Folder with a Question mark in the middle. Time for a Time Machine restore.

Would love to have a link for Combo Update but it seemed like Apple has not released that yet.

There is no Combo Update for this as it is the initial release. There will be no Combo Update until the third delta release. And there is NO place to download it other than the Mac app store, period.

Hard to believe my iMac 21.5" 2009 will get this update. 8 years on and that thing is still chugging (minus the screen...that intermittently flickers, so I hooked up an external monitor).
If my 2010 Core i7 iMac hadn't been supported, I would have been very irritated, since this is such an important update, as it has the HEVC and HEIF supported needed for iOS 11 iPhones.

BTW, I have the GM Candidate running on my 2008 MacBook and 2009 MacBook Pro, using a patched installer. It runs just fine on those machines, although 4 GB RAM. 8 GB RAM is much better.

PSA: High Sierra runs well on old machines with 8 GB RAM and SSD. It is usable on 4 GB RAM and SSD though.

I miss placing my mouse where the progress bar is located so I can see if it's moving... Or as my mom says, "the cigarette is burning away."
No blinking hard drive light on the MBP. I miss those old days.

"Just hours before Apple is expected to roll out the new version of its desktop and notebook operating system, macOS High Sierra, a security researcher dropped a zero-day.

Patrick Wardle, a former NSA hacker who now serves as chief security researcher at ‎Synack, posted a video of the hack -- a password exfiltration exploit -- in action.

Passwords are stored in the Mac's Keychain, which typically requires a master login password to access the vault.

But Wardle has shown that the vulnerability allows an attacker to grab and steal every password in plain-text using an unsigned app downloaded from the internet, without needing that password."

Downloading now. Still debating on installing the APFS now or later tho.

Could have been borderline RAM.

Only clock speed of the 3rd party RAMs are faster than standard Apple RAMs (which Apple System Info shows higher clock RAMs) but then as I've said no freeze ups or Apple diagnostic check problems.

What about CAS latency? Running wrong speed RAMs could be your culprit.

If I'm not wrong they are different as Apple was using faster CAS but slower clock speed while my RAMs were slower CAS but faster clock speed. I'll try tonight with 3rd party if not working I'll try with original Apple RAMs
