Updating Mac Mini M1 from 11.6 to 12.0.1 and it is hung during update. Stuck on this screen for about 40 mins.

Download was a bit weird too. During download, it would stop and then go back to “update available” screen by itself and I had to press the update button to restart the download. This happened a few times.

What should I do? Turn off and start?

Had no issues with the download and installation on my M1 iMac. running just fine. It's currently installing on my MBA now as I write this. Hopefully that one also has no issues.

I believe it’s the same build. If you unenroll your Mac from the beta program, the general release should show up for you.

Hope that helps.
Not this time. Same build number means same bits. In those previous macOS releases, the build number from whatever release candidate was incremented by 1 or more. In this release, not.

Anybody else presented with a screen asking for your Apple ID password but the text box refuses to accept input?

Edit: weird. I chose setup later and it just went forward without issue and never asked me again. Maybe a momentary inability to see the authentication server or something. That aside, it was an incident free update on a 2013MP

Tried to Install...looked like it worked then when it booted up it said Install Failed, Try Later Tonight. on a MBP Mid 2015 so right at the bottom.

Yes, I did that and also restarted the Mac before checking for updates.

I just confirmed with the Dev site that this is Build 21A559, same as RC2. So I already have it installed.

Any news about Safari 15.1 for Big Sur?
I need the "classic" tabs, the modern design is so annoying.

I have looked during the last couple MacOS upgrades, but I can't find where the download is saved on my Mac. I would like to know where the file is saved, so I don't have to download it multiple times. Can anyone enlighten me?
Usually an installation app is created, like /Applications/Install macOS Monterey.app. You'll need to copy it before launching as it gets deleted after upgrading. You can also create a bootable USB installer.

My M1 Mini had the same hung update (though my download was fine). I ended up just turning it off and back on again and then it was able to complete the update.

That's where it was. /Applications/Install macOS Monterey. I copied it to an external drive before I completed the install, since it gets thrown away otherwise.

Installed and it’s exactly like big sur kinda disappointing, feels exactly the same

Yeah, I can't even tell the difference. A few of my startup apps verified their permissions to use certain resources after the reboot, but other than that I can't even tell anything changed.
What did you guys expect? Another redesign after last year? MacOS X looked the same from version 10.0 to 10.9, then a sort of new design from 10.10 to 10.15 and you can expect this 'Big Sur' design to last a couple of versions.

Does anyone know why there is a "Install macOS Monterey" icon in launchpad after I have already installed Monterey?

I'm not going to click it.
