Does Sierra automatically enable Trim Function on third party SSD's if it was previously enabled in El Capitan????

Unlike El Capitan, macOS Sierra does not support Java v6, not even as a manual download. So if you're still using apps that require that (such as bought-and-paid-for versions of Adobe Creative Suite 3–6)... you probably don't want to upgrade your OS. Your other options are to start paying Adobe monthly for the right to use Creative Cloud, or to switch to Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, which are affordable, high-functional replacements for Photoshop and Illustrator.

Is that for real? Any idea if Adobe are going to release an update?

I just went to Apple's site and downloaded Java for OS X again, I use an old copy of Flash CS6 to make banner adverts (don't judge it pays the bills). After installing Java for OS X Flash starts up again.

Hm? I just installed the usual Apple Java V6 since I need it for Photoshop and it works fine for me. What did I miss?

How do I install it.. It shows that it is downloaded but its not installing after I restart or shutdown computer

Just upgraded and got back 70GB of space. This has to be the best one, yet. Only got 30GB back with the last upgrade. This is awesome!

Are your iPhone backups still there? My iPhone backup is 32 GB.

(I know that I have a lot of hard drive space that is "lost" as well. I have a 256GB SSD, but can only account for half that in files and free space.)

So this will NOT be compatible with my 2008 Mac Pro?

Too bad.

However, the App Store just prompted me to download Safari 10.0.

The info about macOS Sierra has a link to Support, but every time the link to Upgrade Requirements always goes to Upgrade to OS X El Capitan.

A major hold for me on updating is it working with my Canon Printer/Scanner. It is a very new model, but I just checked, & the Driver package does not include support for Sierra.
This is not a knock at either Canon or Apple - things take time :)

I was running EL Capitan and manually enabled Trim support with the builtin trimforce command. Upgraded to Sierra and the trim option is still enabled. I don't know if Sierra automatically enables it. But it can surely carry over the option.

Illustrator/Photoship/Bridge CS5 all seem to be happy after a brief spin. (I'm not brave enough to install Sierra on my main productivity computer on launch day so I haven't done anything more complex...)

Interesting. I've read where there's been using with Yosemite and above and the Java 6 not being compatible with it. Although I read mixed things about that. Good thinking on not installing Sierra on a "real" machine just yet.

you do not pause downloads from apple :D
One Does not Simply pause a download from apple
Fixed it for you :)

I'm 99% sure I tried to enable TRIM in El Capitan using trimforce and afterwards disabled it. Now, in Sierra, it is enabled. So it seems like Sierra enables TRIM even on non-apple SSDs? Mine's a Samsung 850 EVO.

Don't quote me on that though, there's this 1% chance that I did leave TRIM on in ElCap.

According to adobe, photoshop and indesign CS6 support sierra. Dreamweaver, illustrator and acrobat do not. Any reports of experience either corroborating this or not would be appreciated.
