Great. Now it is 11 hours 40 minutes! Come on, I’ve asked you to stop downloading…! ;) ;) ;)

Pause and resume the download, most of the times download speeds will improve greatly.

So glad to not have this OCD anymore. Now, just update the damn thing and move on with my life. So much more relaxing.

Naa. I feel like a fresh install helps my MacBook to keep running at maximum speed now it's getting on a bit. Flush out the hidden files and the stuff uninstalled apps always leave behind. I don't mind doing it, it's a pretty easy process and doesn't take too long at all. At the end of it my MacBook feels brand new.

i consider myself lucky that I did not have a problem when i installed ios 10 tuesday morning. I will not take the risk with my Mac. I will wait a couple days to let the dust settle and feedback from immediate adopters.

Alright folks, if you haven't learned from last week - you might want to wait a little before downloading. And definitely backup your system with Time Machine or a cloning solution.
I waited almost six months before I upgraded my 2015 MBP and 2012 MBP. My 2012 Mini still hasn't upgraded.

I'm waiting a few months at least this time.

while I agree, I cannot bother reinstalling every piece of software and corresponding plug ins, recalibrating preferences and so on and so forth.

cat "/Applications/Install macOS Sierra.app/Contents/Info.plist" | grep -A 1 DTSDKBuild
<key>DTSDKBuild</key>
<string>16A322</string>

edit: ignore this, apparently this isn't a reliable way of extracting the build number..
to get mac os build version # simply do this
go to about this mac
go to system report
go to software
and look at system version

Downloading now. 15 minute d/l on east coast. Didn't show in the update tab, so I searched for sierra and there it was.
