Ugh. No charger with me. I have my watch charger, which sadly doesn't work and my USBC iphone charger. Annoying.

Not sure if a 12W charger would be so good for my AirPod Pros.

No charger needed to update. My AirPod Pros are on 2C54 after about 10 minutes waiting. Nut sure, what charging level you need, to get the updated running. Mine were almost fully charged. Last charge Sunday morning.

That’s quite strange 🤔
I checked mine and they are running 2C54, so the last version available.

The point is: I didn’t recharge my AirPods since Saturday, so if the new firmware was released today, they updated even without being on charge.

Is that possible ? 🤨

How the hell do you upgrade these things - really not simple...
You are not supposed to do that.
They should update by themselves on background.

I'm in an office with constantly running HVAC, etc. I paused my music and swapped between ANC and Transparency, and the difference was pretty noticeable.

Had no one mentioned this, I probably would have never realized that the prior firmware wasn't 'isolating' me the way the launch firmware did. This new firmware is doing the job for me again.

Edit: I should also note that I can't get a good seal even with the large eartips due to my earhole shapes and sizes.

Same for me, they need to make even larger ear tips than in the box

Regarding ANC, although ether than the last firmware, it’s still not as good as the original firmware

Has anyone successfully updated AirPod 2's or just the Pro's?

I did both.

Comply is looking into it allegedly. Thing is, they they gotta make them fit in the case otherwise the convenience is lost if I have to carry a case and then attach them.

AirPods 2 connected to phone, but not seeing an entry for them in About screen. Why must MR turn this site into a den of lies?
Open the lid - go to the info-about screen. It is only visible, with open lid of the AirPods. Close it, and the info vanishes miraculously ;)

Wonder if this will fix the many issues I've had with pairing and charging the AirPods Pro. First, I had Apple replace the right AirPod because it wouldn't charge, and now my left AirPod is no longer charging in the case! I have had to contact Apple support about this twice now, and now they are shipping me a replacement charging case. I cannot believe how buggy and faulty these damn things are.
I’ve had the same experience

I have my Airpods 2 plugged in, connected to my iphone with Airpods 2 case open, and they are next to each other. Still no update.

Checked my AirPods 2 version when this article first appeared and I had the older version.

Just checked them again before planning to plug them in and they’re already updated to the new version.

I never plugged anything in.

Really wish Apple would give the user th ability to choose. What if this new firmware started bricking AirPods?

That was strange: They (edit: AirPods 2) were fully charged I think when I put them on the wireless charger and connected them to my iPhone and now I came back about an hour later to check the status and saw that the firmware update completed ("Yay") and that the case was at 4% battery life ("What?").
